Filtering on a dataframe- newbie question
...the data-frame with Name == T44.
X <- dataframe[dataframe$Name=='T44'] does not work.
Any ideas on how to do this?
I'm sure I'm missing a simple concept here.
Thanks,
Anjan

Reportedly, the second formula is not too accurate. However in my case the

Any advice?

Courses in R
Hello,
I have a question concerning courses in R in *Vienna, Austria*.
Does anyone know where courses in R are offered, that you can do after
having attended a course for the basics?
Thanks in advance for your help.

structural equation modeling
Dear R-help,
I am interested in using structural equation modeling.
Just getting started with it, but I'm looking for suggestions for packages.
As an aside, what's the best way for looking for packages at CRAN?

R and FDA trials
Yesterday I just noticed the new document on R and regulatory aspects
for biomedical research posted at
http://www.r-project.org/doc/R-FDA.pdf
Coming from an institution that performs a large number of clinical
trials for FDA and being an advocate of R myself, I have found that
the following issues usually come up when discussing the use of R for
FDA trials:
1. Most FDA submissio...

Use of geometric mean for geochemical concentrations
Dear Rich,
It depends how the data is generated.
Although I am not an expert in ecology, I can explain it based on a biomedical example.
Certain variables are generated geometrically (exponentially), e.g. MIC or Titer.
MIC = Minimum Inhibitory Concentration for bacterial resistance
Titer = dilution which still has an effect, e.g. serially diluting blood samples;
Obviously, diluting the samples will generate the following...

Latest post 6.03 build?
I notice for some reason you can no longer get pre- builds from the listed place. Can you point me to a better location? UEFI boot isn't working on my hardware so I'd like to try something newer. It is an IBM x3850 X6 if that's interesting info.

default for 'signif.stars'
...no, ....??? Adding stars to
output is, to me, simply a gateway drug to this pernicous addiction.?? We shouldn't
encourage it.
Wrt Abe's rant about the Nature article:? I've read the article and found it to be well
reasoned, and I can't say the same about the rant.?? The issue in biomedical science is
that the p-value has fallen victim to Goodhart's law: "When a measure becomes a target, it
ceases to be a good measure."? The article argues, and I would agree, that the .05 yes/no
decision rule is currently doing more harm than good in biomedical research.?? What to do...
