The "security mask" parameter
I am a new Samba user so forgive my ignorance. I am using Samba version 2.0.6 on HP UX 11 and I need to use the "security mask" parameter to prevent even the owner of a file from changing the read only attribute (by right clicking on the file from a Windows NT 4.0 desktop) if the file is read only (Unix permissions: 0440). This is what I have in the "smb.conf" file: [global]

I believe that if you write your functions using log(a + 1) instead of log1p(a) or log(x) / log(2) instead of log2(x) deriv3 will work fine. Wish List: Extensions to the derivatives table
The derivative table resides in the function D. In S+ that table is extensible because it is written in the S language. R is faster but less flexible, since that table is programmed in C. It would be useful if R provided a mechanism for extending the derivative table, or barring that, provided a broader table. Currently unsupported mathematical functions of one argument include expm1, log1p,

pt inaccurate when x is close to 0 (PR#9945)
...ect figures) for pt ranged from 10.7 to 13.4, while pf(1e-8,1,df)/2+0.5 and pbeta(1/(1+df/1e-8),.5,df/2)/2+0.5 agreed exactly with Maple, except for 21 and 90 df, where the LRE was 15.65. Clearly it would be quite easy to improve pt() for small values of x. Jerry W.
