What happen for negative binomail link in lmer() fonction?
Dear R users,
I’m performing some GLMMs analysis with a negative binomial link.
I already performed such analysis some months ago with the lmer() function
but when I tried it today I encountered this problem:
*Erreur dans famType(glmFit$family) : unknown GLM family: ‘Negative
Binomial’*
Does anyone know if the negative binomial family has been removed from this
function?
I really appreciate any

method of rpart when response variable is binary?
Dear all,
I would like to model the relationship between y and x. y is binary
variable, and x is a count variable which may be possion-distribution.
I think it is better to divide x into intervals and change it to a
factor before calling glm(y~x,data=dat,family=binomail).
I try to use rpart. As y is binary, I use "class" method and get the
following result.
> rpart(y~x,data=dat,method="class")
n=778 (22 observations deleted due to missingness)

how to use R for Beta Negative Binomial
...command for this, that will help, I have

I thought I should show what I did, this is R 2.6.1:
tghyper(a=-1, k=-1, N=5) %I think this makes it do Beta Negative Binomail
and now I used summary command, right?
sghyper(3, .5, 3)
But I do not think this is correct.Tried few other permitations. Hard for me
to see how to set the parameters correctly for this distribution.
thanks,
Nasser

Simulating underdispersed counts
Hello,
Anyone who knows a fast and accurate algorithm for generating draws from an underdispersed Poisson distribution. Or even better, if there is a package containing such an implementation.
Thanks
