Smaba 4.0.3 replication: Warning: No NC replicated for Connection!
Hi folks, I think I've read every thread on this issue and don't seem to be able to resolve it. It doesn't appear to be affecting anything, however I'm not entirely sure what the implications are either way. What should I do to troubleshoot it? I have BIND9_FLAT updating a BIND server, all of the records appear correct, regular AD objects are replicated fine as well. Any help appreciated. Thanks! samba-tool drs showrepl: Default-First-Site-Name\dc01 DSA Options: 0x00000001 DSA object GUID: 79ebd974-91c5-4cd8-a318-9c4c17bc12d3 DSA invocationId: feead75a-c...

samba wiki
Hai, ? i was reading: ? http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_DC_HOWTO#Testing_DNS? which stats : Don't use BIND9_FLATFILE! It's not documented and supported!? ? This is wrong imo.? ? bind9_flatefile works fine, it just does not support multi master dns, and bind9_DLZ does. so you must setup a master/slave setup for bind9 with flatfile ? If you need to run a network with dhcp-failover then this is the only o...

any way to stop named.conf.update from updating ( bind9_dlz )
Hai, ? Is there any way to stop the updateing of named.conf.update?(bind9_dlz) ? I need to be able to add 1 line to this file. ? if its not possible then i must use bind9_flatefile, but i want to use the bind9_dlz modules since this is the only one which supports multi master dns. ? ? Best regards, ? Louis ?

about samba failover
Hi all, As many of us, I'm trying to find a way to have a failover solution for a Samba domain. The actual choice has been (because of hardware cost) to have only 1 physical xen-based server (ubuntu 14.04) that do (dom0) : - DHCP server (LAN) - NTP server - firewall - proxy - DNS server Then 4 VMs running for: - Samba Domain controller - Samba Domain member (file server) - Apache2 server -

...folders do if it goes down we've got big problem anyway -- probably not going to attempt to create a redundant email/redirectedFolders host. I did try the bind9_DLZ early on when experimenting with AD/DC installation, but I couldn't get it to work. The only one that worked painlessly was BIND9_FLATFILE and I've experienced zero problems since. Yes, I've heard it is not a good idea to use .local, but I don't recall the Samba wiki docs saying that at the time. The reason I did that was because I migrated the office domain to Samba4 from SBS 2008 and the Windows domain was called h...

One thing nobody seems to mention. This setup samba 4 + bind9_flate file setup works ok.. BUT If you add a new DC, you will run in to problems.. bind9_flatefile setup is NOT multi master replication setup. OK for 1 DC, but if you use more DC's, make sure you make your changes on the first dc. setup a bind master/slave.. and for a dhcp server with failover...

Samba Migration and AD integration
Hi, We migrated from Samba 3 to 4 (4.6.7-Ubuntu) and added promoted a Server 2008R2 as a Domain Controller. We've come across the following issues and request some suggestions to resolve them - The migration didn't generate DNS entries for the new realm. We had to manually create a new zone file (/var/cache/bind) for the new realm. Only then we were able to promote the
