hi !
First of all cangratulation for rsync, which I use as our main backup tool in
our banking company (ACM).
I am trying to also use rsync to deduplicate files.
example:
cd /
cp -a /bin /bin3
rm -v /bin3/z* /bin/bas*
#now we will use rsync to build a folder with all files from /bin that are
missing or different in /bin3, using --compare-dest
rm -r /bin.tmp -r; rsync --recursive --links --group --owner --devices
--numeric-ids --delete --delete-excluded --one-file-system

Binning a 2 column matrix by avarages of rows.
...es in bin2, and so on (bins would be of the same dimensions). I should
also know what the first index (or position) of the pair has been.

Binning Question
...has the "bin label" for the
bin that row would belong to. (I can see how to do this with lots of
nasty loops and greater-than, less-than calculations, but that gets
messy.) There must be an easier way.
So, If I made 10 bins for each column (r1,r2), I'd have 100 bins.
(bin1, bin2, bin3, etc.) I want to label each ROW in my data set with
the bin it would belong to. (I intend to do more work with them after
this, but this starts. Each row gets transformed depending on the bin
it belongs to, etc..)
Thanks,
-N
