Indexing issue
Hi, R is having the following weird behavior and I am not sure if that is a feature or a bug: I am working on the following "3D" array: > bIm , , 1 [,1] [1,] TRUE [2,] TRUE [3,] TRUE [4,] TRUE [5,] TRUE > class(bIm) [1] "array" > dim(bIm) [1] 5 1 1 When I try to get the first 2D subarray, the whole thing folds into a vector: > bIm[,,1] [1] TRUE TRUE TRUE TRUE TRUE This causes a lot of trouble in the R code as...

Horrible Linux/Samba vs Windows political battle - can you help?
...infrastructure, simply on the basis of the new employee's statemenets about the worthlessness of Linux. I do not relish being put in this position, however I'm going to take a stand. If there is anyone reading this who works in the field of architecture or engineering, and with CAD or BIM software, who is using Linux as your server software, I would sure be appreciative it if you could write a testimonial for me to help me convince my boss that migrating from Linux to MS would be a horrible mistake. Also, if you know of any other resources that might be helpful to me, I'd g...

Samba 4.1.12 NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED messages
We used successfully samba 3.5.15-74.fc15 in our production (animation studio). It was installed on FC15 on ext4 volume. Now, we got new hardware and tried fresh software installation: it is CentOS7, with Samba 4.1.12 and XFS volumes. So, now we got strange problem. Some production software (Autodesk Maya2016) got errors trying to work with files. There is no such problem with Samba3. For

CRAN task view for genetics
Hello to everyone! I have built CRAN task view for genetics. For now I have not submit it to CRAN yet and it can be accessible from: http://www.bfro.uni-lj.si/MR/ggorjan/software/R/Genetics.html http://www.bfro.uni-lj.si/MR/ggorjan/software/R/Genetics.ctv I have not submitted it to CRAN, since I would like first some opinion about it. searching R-help within a function
Hi, I am working on a package which requires separate documentation (tutorial documentation, really, with a lot of beautifully latexed equations), and does not use R-help. I am trying to make it so that my help function will automatically search R-help if the help topic isn't found in my documentation. The function looks something like this: help.pkg <- function(topic) { #

simple steps with sieve
Today is my first day with sieve, so be gentle :) I'm trying to set up a pretty webmail interface to our Dovecot 1.2.4 server using roundcube. The managesieve config + roundcube 'managesieve' plugin work fine, and I'm able to use roundcube's UI to generate .dovecot.sieve files. We use winbind + LDAP lookups to do some exotic mail rewriting... ultimately user.name at domain.com
