strange trusts in 3.0.21?
...oblem is the following:
ACDEV trusts DEVXP and DEVEX
DEVXP trusts ACDEV and DEVEX
DEVEX trusts ACDEV and DEVXP
A machine INTDEV4 (INTDEV4$) joins ACDEV.
INTDEV4 shows INTDEV4 (local machine), ACDEV, DEVEX and DEVXP as possible
choices for logging in. Perfect.
Three users are used for testing:
billtest (sambaSID & sambaPrimaryGroupSID is in ACDEV)
log on to ACDEV - YES
log on to DEVXP - YES
log on to DEVEX - YES
edwartho (sambaSID & sambaPrimaryGroupSID is in DEVEX)
log on to ACDEV - **NO**
log on to DEVXP - YES
log on to DEVEX - YES

valid users = too long?
...are based on userid under the guidelines
of HIPPA. So only our health care professionals in the dental hygeine labs
can gain access to patient records.
The problem is I've vonverted the long line to \CR entended lines and now
I get :

I a have a problem resulting from a neat tool I developed through the use of the
"root preexec" option:
This is done in the [homes] section of smb.conf.
I launch a shell script with the user name (%u) and machine name (%m). The shell
calls a C program to check the users quota and returns a code as the percentage
of quota used.
Meanwhile, all output of the C program has been captured
