Hello everyone, Just joined the forum. My question might be a difficult one to answer... I never really bothered with Wine but the other day I thought why not try it and installed Alibre Design V12.1. It seemed to install ok but won't start. My question is: Why won't it run? I'm trying understand how functionality behind it in the sense that perhaps there are settings one can tweak.

I am new to Wine and don't really know my way round it but I thought I might try my CAD software on it, Alibre Design. It seems to have installed fine but won't start. I read somewhere that in order for a program to work properly in Wine it should be installed in a clean enviroment, something along the lines of one software conflicting with anothers drivers/runtime/apps/etc. Is this true? Does this mean that I can only have one program installed with Wine at a time? Can one not create several 'fresh enviroments'?

I have just noticed that my version of wine is 1.3.28 which is apparently a bit outdated. Strange cos I installed it via Synaptic. Anyway how do I get hold of the latest version? Must I uninstall the old one first? Can I update from one to the other? Do I have to reinstall all my programs? Thanks
