Can find linuxbox using "find" but not in neighborhood.
In windoz I can using "find computer" to find linuxbox,and windoz do indicate
that it is in the specified workgroup.Also I can access it.but I can't find it
in network neighborhood in the specified workgroup. Why?
The following is my [global] section:
workgroup=domain
netbios name=ipux
public=yes
server string=server
hosts allow=172.16. (this is our subnet)
guest account=guest

No matter how I tried,I can't see Linux box!
Untill now,I can't see linux box in our NT network.
First I have several questions:
1.If I set "netbios name = XXX" should the linux box appear in the network as
XXX?Or if not,should it appear as my linux's hostname,or anything else?
2.I have also used ip_address based serach in windoz neighbourhood but the same
result.(I'm sure the network connection is OK.I can use

SMB service can't be used across Routers?
In the latest SMB-HOWTO doc,I see the following words:
SMB services cannot be used across routers. If you want to do something like that, you would need to set up an IP tunnel ...
Is that true?
Is that the reason that I can't see the LinuxBox in Windoz net neighbourhood,but
can find it using "find computer"?

LinuxBox can't appear in Net neighbourhood.
I have samba 2.0.5 run on my RH6.1
In windoz,when I use "find computer",I can find it without any difficulty!
Also I can access it using this method!
But I can't see it in network neighbourhood!
I've tried "net view /workgroup=MY_LINUXBOX_DOMAIN",still can't see.
Why?(In my linuxbox,the dns resolve doesn't work.does that matter?)

How to know which is the PDC or passwd server?
Is there any methods that can tell me which machine is the PDC or passwd
server in our LAN.Every day I log on to our NT network,but it seems that
those servers are transparent to us.Is it right?
