How do I add a book title to the R bibliography?
R community:
I would like to add a new title to the bibliography on the R website
(http://www.r-project.org/doc/bib/R-books.html), but I cannot find
instructions for doing that.
Can anyone tell me, whom should I contact in order to add a new book?
(I added the title to the wiki's list of books, but the bibliography and the
list don't seem to be connect...

R implementations of scatterplot/map labeling algorithims?
...idering the topic of producing
scatterplots or maps with point labels positioned in such a way as to
minimize label overlap and occlusion. This is a topic with a large, but
scattered literature. In CS, it is considered NP-hard, but there are
a variety of approximate solutions. The most complete bibliography I've
found is
the Map-Labeling Bibliography,

AFAIK, the only concrete and published implementation is a Fortran
program published by Noma (below), and then adapted by Warren Kuhfeld

A Ruby/Rails bibliography
Howdy all,
I''ve noticed an influx of "What book should I buy?" questions lately,
so I thought I''d put together a number of bibliographies/curriculums
based on experience, role, and so on. You can view them at:
http://blog.mrneighborly.com/2007/10/ruby-and-rails-bibliography-of-sorts.html
I want this to be a resource to point people to, so if one of these
becomes out of date or you have a better suggestion, then please tell
me. I''ll try my best to keep it up to date.
Thanks!

Sweave and bibliographies
I added a bibliographic reference to one of my .Rnw documents, to wit:
\begin{thebibliography}{9}
\bibitem{Jose} Jos{\'{e}} C. Pinheiro and Douglas M. Bates,
\emph{Mixed-Effects Models in S and S-PLUS},
Springer, 2000.
\end{thebibliography}
just before the \end{document}.
When I run Sweave on the result these lines disappear without a trace.
Is this intentional?

OT: BibTex year-only citation in text?
Sorry for the off-topic question, but I know there are some talented
LaTeX users out there. Which bibliography style gives only the year in
text citations (e.g "for further details, see Anderson (1992)" )?
Thanks

function prop.trend.test (stats)
To the R-help list,
In the documentation of the prop.trend.test function in the
stats package, no bibliography has been provided which
would allow one to find out the theoretical basis of that
function and/or details of its implementation.
May I suggest that some bibliography be included, as it
generally happens with other statistical functions.
I currently use R 2.8.0 running on Windows XP.

Sweave, Bibtex, package references
Dear all,
I'm a big fan and happy user of the Sweave package for routine reporting.
From inside a .Rnw script, I'd like to produce the references in bibtex
format for each package loaded in the environment, write them in a .bib
file and load them back from the
\bibliography{bibliography} statement.
Is this feasible?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Paolo

group write permissions not being respected
Hi
We have just migrated our data to a new file server (more space, old
server was showing its age). We have a volume for collaborative use,
based on group membership. In our new server, the group write
permissions are not being respected (e.g. the owner of a directory can
still write to that directory but any other member of the associated
group cannot, even though the directory clearly

information about Loess
Hello,
I'm currently using a tool that provides a Loess fitting, but I obtained results that are slightly different from those provided by R implementation of the Loess. That's why I would like to know if you could give me a source (bibliography or web) that explains in a clear way each step of the algorithm, with the possible options to choose, etc.. in order for me to understand those differences.
Thank you,
Naomi Berdugo.

and pandoc will convert it into a properly formatted citation using
any of hundreds of styles (including footnote styles, numerical

Clustering analysis with ordination plots
...d an environmental matrix with 2 different methods, and I'd
like to plot them in a PCA and a db-RDA. I mean, I want see these clusters
in the plots like points of differents colours, together with the rest
information of the plot, but I don't know how to do this.
I've checked a lot of bibliography and forums, and I haven't found the
solution... it can't be so hard!
Well, thanks in advance! :)

Referencing R in journal paper?
I'm using R for calculations and plots in a statistical paper. Is
there a canonical reference to use in the bibliography? (Or is it not
common to acknowledge computer programs in journal papers?)

Thanks,

P.S. The background is my bibliography-file for BibTeX. If the title field
has some content like "An analysis of Denmark", it would actually turn out
to be "An analysis of denmark" in my dvi-document. Of course, R is not the
appropriate tool for this. But apart from the little problem outlined above,

How to run Bibtex with pdfLatex in StatEt/MikTex on Windows ?
Hello,
I'm running R2.10, Eclipse, StatEt and MikTex 2.8 to create Sweave
documents, and everything seems to work great, until today...
I was trying to add citations from a Bibtex file, but I just got [?]
citations. However, if I open the .tex file that StatEt created in
MikTex and run the latex+bibtex+pdflatex command, the citations are present.
Does anyone know how to either configure

References for book "R In Action" by Kabacoff
I know this is not really an R question - it is a query about a recent book
on R ("R In Action") by Robert Kabacoff, (Manning Publications 2011).
There are many references to interesting topics in R in the book, BUT, I do
not find a bibliography/list of references in the book!
Does anybody know if there are errata for the book available some place?
Thanks,
Ravi

cubic complete Scheffe mixture models
Hello everyone
I'm trying to use Scheffe's complete cubic model (mixture design).
In the bibliographies, they indicate that the term is of the type: A * B
* (A-B).
But I see that trying to adjust the three cubic terms results in
singularities.
I know this implies not having the inverse matrix:
solve (t (X)% *% X) does not exist.
The bibliographies show all three cubic terms.
So my
