question
Sir, I found your description of the dataset about nodal involvement in prostate cancer. It comes from the book biostatistics casebook. I like to use the dataset for doing logistics regression. Can you tell me where I can find the dataset. Thanks and greetings Wim van Baarle wvbaarle@wxs.nl [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Upgrading R
Hello! New version of R has came out and I would like to thank to all developers on this matter. So I should probably upgrade. Fine and no problem. For windows I just grab the latest precompiled binnaries and install them. Then I see a report on a bug, which is or will be fixed in pacthed version. So I need to get binnaries from patched build and install them, right? How often do you people

Forthcoming R Conferences
Dear useRs and developeRs, I hope all attending useR! in Dortmund last week had as much a good time as I had and a safe trip home. This email is to announce our plans for forthcoming conferences. In 2009 there will be a useR! in Rennes, France (July 8-10), directly followed by a DSC in Copenhagen, Denmark (July 13-14). We would like to have a useR! 2010 in North America, and 2011 in Europe.

plotting time series
Hi List, I have the following time series and i want to be able to plot it while having the x-axis running from 1998 to 2006 but in a bi-annual format So here is my example: x<-sample (10:100, 17) x<-ts(x, start=c(1998,1), frequency=2) plot(x) When I plot the ts it goes from 1998 to 2006 by 2years, when in fact i want it to go from 1998 to 2006 with the following form:1998 may, 1998

Release plans: R-2.15.1 on June 22
Just a note, mainly to people who maintain larger R installations, that we intend to have a patch release version on June 22. The nickname will be "Roasted Marshmallows". This is somewhat later than previous .1 releases, but we are also now aiming for an annual rather than biannual release scheme. There have been very few issues with 2.15.0, but some people may be waiting

Truncating dates (and other date-time manipulations)
Dear all, I've been struggling to perform common operations on dates that I need to be able to correct draw date-time scales - in particular I need to be able to round/truncate/ceiling dates to arbitrary precision - e.g. to weeks, months or years (or multiples thereof). I haven't been able to find anything to do this in base R (trunc.Date only truncates to sub-day units), or in the date
