Help ! libvirt
...Unable to find any firmware to satisfy 'efi'
I presume the errors being spit out are not accurate description of
failures anymore with libvirt and for the life of mine I could not find why
the other xml file doesnt work and why this does.
Happy libvirt-ing

hvm on x86_64 on binutils i386
Hi,
I have this setup
kernel: x86_64 version 4.2.0
operating system (rootfs binutils etc.,) : i386 (ELF-32-bit)
qemu-system : version 2.4.0 qemu-system-x86_64 (i386 binary)
libvirt: 1.2.19 (i386 )
When I run the qemu-system-x86_64 binary with --enable-kvm, the guest
machine is working properly as hvm. So
QEMU can run x86_64 OS as hvm
when I install using virt-install
virt-install --name

Can someone help please ?

Problems using latest qemu-kvm and latest libvirt ( hvm missing )
...he latest libvirt 0.9.11 ? since clearly the latest
versions of qemu-kvm and libvirt are not compatible fully (atleast not hvm).
Even better if this is documented somewhere visible so that a lot of
time can be saved in iterating through the versions of qemu-kvm to find
out which one will work.

Syslinux Text menu not redrawing/resetting the screen
...hen (after kernel is loaded) see the kernel messages
If I change menu.c32 to vesamenu.c32, the menu is now displayed.
I think menu.c32 must reset the display which is missing ?
Is there a config line where I can explicitly reset the display so
that the text menu is shown compulsarily ?
Thanks

Re: hvm on x86_64 on binutils i386
Using virt-manager and copying host CPU can still boot the guest OS (64-bit)
virt-install however still is not doing the job.

CPU model and type
Hello,
Is there a way to configure the domain cpu in such a way that the info
reported to the guest OS system will remain constant ? For example in older
versions of of libvirt/qemu the cpu was reported as "QEMU Virtual CPU
version (cpu64_rhel6)" but moving the vm on a qemu2.2.0 is is reported as
"QEMU Virtual CPU version 2.2.0".
Thanks.
