Parsing Dates bewilderment
Ok, so to me this seems like a very trivial issue, but it is causing hours of frustration. I am hoping that an extra thousand or so sets of eyes will point out where I am obviously making a newbie mistake. I have the following string: "08-04-2006" representing August 4, 2006 I set my attribute ''po_date'' equal to this string and then save it to the database. My

What really did me in when I was trying to like it, the scroll bars were gone and I was told they could be put back in place with configuration. So I tried to find the configuration option and couldn't find it. Then I was told that I had to hand-code CSS to...

A trap for young players with the lapply() function.
From time to time I get myself into a state of bewilderment when using apply() by calling it with FUN equal to a function which has an "optional" argument named "X". E.g. xxx <- lapply(y,function(x,X){cos(x*X)},X=2*pi) which produces the error message > Error in get(as.character(FUN), mode = "function", envir =...

...ome. I think their target is 16 yr olds. My reaction to GNOME 3 has been roughly the same as with systemd. At first, I hated it with a passion. Then I saw everyone else seemed to use it. So I started to read the docs and experiment a little bit. And now I'm using it on a daily basis, and to my bewilderment, I've grown to like it. * https://blog.microlinux.fr/gnome-centos/ * https://blog.microlinux.fr/poste-de-travail-gnome-centos-7/ Sad to hear the news about KDE though. My custom version of CentOS 7 and KDE 4 is running nicely on a few installations for clients: * https://blog.microlin...

R-forge getting the wrong package
..."Rglpk_0.3-2.tar.gz" Rllvm "Ripop_0.1.tar.gz" RlpSolveAPI "Rllvm_0.1.tar.gz" There's a report on the R-forge forum, but I thought I'd post this here in case anyone else is staring at the screen in bewilderment. I'm hypothesizing it's in the way the PACKAGES file is being constructed, but haven't tested that hypothesis yet - I'm sure the R-forge admins will fix this.
