uniform and clumped point plots
...r randomly distributed data I have simply used >xy<-cbind(runif(100),runif(100)) However I also want to generate coordinates that are more uniformly distributed, and coordinates that are more contagiously distributed than the above. Can anyone make any suggestions Thanks. Converting the graphics window to a data matrix
...ls(x=runif(100,-.5,1.5),y=runif(100,-.5,1.5),circles=runif(100)/30, inches=F,bg=1,xlim=c(0,1),ylim=c(0,1)) What I would like to end up with is a 2 dimensional matrix that indicates presence/absence of grass in any given pixel as per the image generated from the above graphics plot. SMART
On Solaris x86, does zpool (or anything) support PATA (or SATA) IDE SMART data? With the Predictive Self Healing feature, I assumed that Solaris would have at least some SMART support, but what I''ve googled so far has been discouraging. http://prefetch.net/blog/index.php/2006/10/29/solaris-needs-smart-support-please-help/ Bug ID: 4665068 SMART support in IDE driver

oldlogspline probabilities
...How can this be, given that the density is highest at area=0? > simdat<-c(rep(0,8),rexp(92)) > myspline<-oldlogspline(simdat,lbound=0) > poldlogspline(fit=myspline, q=0) [1] 0 Any help to work out the probability of an area value in my distribution = 0 would be appreciated Terry Beutel Agri-Science Queensland [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Survival analysis with events at t=0
...nce interval for Time=0). But I am hoping there is a single modelling approach - in this case it would suggest likelihood of survival at Time=0 is <1, rather than the models I am familiar with that indicate survival probabilityat Time=0 is always 1. Any suggestion would be appreciated Dr Terry Beutel Senior Scientist Agri-Science Queensland ********************************DISCLAIMER**************...{{dropped:15}}
