Ambiguous columns from related tables
...e search to. One solution would be to append the desired table name to the field being passed on in search, like my_database.foo where foo was the ambiguous field. But this doesn''t seem very Rails-ish to my newbie eyes. Is there a better, AR-based way to handle this issue? ...pretend to understand the background, but from your description it sounds like performance on Core Duo machines will be bad unless this change is made, or the potentially dangerous sysctl is active. If that is indeed the case, will this change make it into 6.1? Thanks, Stefan -- Stefan Bethke <stb@lassitu.de> Fon +49 170 346 0140

[heads up] axing AppleTalk and IPX/SPX
Hello! [Cc to stable@, for wider audience] The plan is two axe two old networking protocols from FreeBSD head/, meaning that FreeBSD 11.0-RELEASE, available in couple of years would be shipped without them. 1) AppleTalk Last time claimed to be supported by vendor in 2007[1]. In practice had very little use since 90th. Discontinued by major routing equipment vendors since 2009[2].

mbuf vulnerability
In http://docs.freebsd.org/cgi/mid.cgi?200402260743.IAA18903 it seems RELENG_4 is vulnerable. Is there any work around to a system that has to have ports open ? R with Java
Hey, I?m a newbie in R and have a big problem. I hope, I?m in the right mailinglist, if not, sorry for this. I want to use R in my Java application and I found out, it should work with JRI. But it doesn?t. I installed it and in the lib-directory of R there is a folder named "JRI". But I have to tell Eclipse that the JRI exist but I don?t know how. I read help-files and so on, but I don?t

pam_radius fail open?
Okay, I guess I?ll be the first to take Colin Percival up in that the following statement applies to me: ?If you find a security problem -- or even if you find something which might possibly be a security problem but you're not certain if it is or not -- then please let us know.? I recently installed pam_radius according to the instructions located at the following address:

Reducing the need to compile a custom kernel
Hi, during some big discussions in the last monts on various lists, one of the problems was that some people would like to use freebsd-update but can't as they are using a custom kernel. With all the kernel modules we provide, the need for a custom kernel should be small, but on the other hand, we do not provide a small kernel-skeleton where you can load just the modules you need.

Old kernel bug back in CentOS 6.10?
I updated a few hypervisors and their VMs to CentOS 6.10 on Monday; today I awoke to an alert saying all VMs are down. It looks like a very old bug crept back in. The machine is a ProLiant DL380 G7 with Xeon X5675 and 96 GB, running half a dozen smallish VMs. Hypervisor and all VMs have kernel 2.6.32-754.2.1.el6.x86_64. Around the time the VMs must have gone down, there are quite a few error
