Illegal filenames produced by rename
Greetings. I have a Windows share mounted via Samba. I recently tried to rename some files; the destination filenames had some high-bit characters. The renaming had some completely unexpected consequences; the new filenames now contain the full pathname (including backslashes), plus other illegal characters (colons). The files can no longer be accessed or modified, either from the remote

Backup - suggestions needed....
...s running the Backup Exec client for Unix ('http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/192093.htm') Occasionally, when doing a backup the entire linux system freezes. I have to do a hard reboot without a shutdown, etc. There is 40 plus gigs on the backup, so I dont think a tar and copy would be bery efficient. I am wondering a couple things here: 1. Is anyone successfull with doing a backup off of linux using BE and the BE agent for UNIX? 2. Is there a better way to do this? I thought I could be able to connect to the samba share and pull it off that way, but that doesnt work... Any hel...

Smarter flac / samba VFS module possible?
Hi all - Hope this isn't too OT - I've been playing with the file extention mapper VFS module for samba (http://file-ext-map.sourceforge.net/) to play flac files on my Audiotron. The above module takes any *.flac file and presents it as a *.wav to the client, and decodes on the fly when the file is read. It seems to work pretty well, but I often get the first second or so of a song

Smarter flac / samba VFS module possible?
I'm not sure Bery (the author) is subscribed here; he's probably the best one to ask first. Josh --- Eric Sandeen <sandeen@sandeen.net> wrote: > Hi all - > > Hope this isn't too OT - I've been playing with the file extention > mapper VFS module for samba (http://file-ext-map.sourcef...

HTB - Rate errors
Hi, I''m trying to get HTB working correctly on Centos4 (RHEL-based) with kernel 2.6.9-34.EL. I have two gigabit network interfaces bridged together and I have created the following: tc qdisc add dev eth2 root handle 1: htb default 1 r2q 8000 tc class add dev eth2 parent 1: classid 1:1 htb rate 100Mbit burst 24k cburst 24k (I have been trying different parameters). The network is

[LLVMdev] running clang format on the Mips target
Hi David, I agree with you that it would be rude to simply clang-format the MIPS backend without coordination with any out-of-tree derivatives. To be honest, it hadn't occurred to me that there would be any such derivatives and the possibility wasn't raised in our internal discussion before we brought the subject up on this list. I'm keen to coordinate with such derivatives to
