Seeking advice about ISDN BRI Cards
Checkout Beronet ISDN cards and Berofix Gateway (appliance or pci card) Personally for my last installation I chose Berofix card which is rock solid and reliable, yet easily configurable. With berofix you don't need telephony drivers on the host system, the isdn card is detected as a NIC and all configuration is done using a web in...

Seeking advice about ISDN BRI Cards
Hi, please whoever has some expertise in choice of BRI ISDN cards, please restore my faith in community support :) (on private email I can probably explain more than fits for a public forum) Most I'd like to ask is about what to choose, out of what is available... My locality is United Kingdom, lines from British Telecom (BT), but any advice / pointers (I googled around already) are

Virtual Asterisk Installation
...a hardware. We have already a Server running with Linux (for Network monitoring). Because it's a waste to use this Server just for monitoring I thought about virtualizing. Now I want to run a machine with monitoring and a machine with Asterisk on this Server. I already bought a ISDN Card (berofix 400) with a S0 module. Now my big question: What kind of virtualization should I run on the Server? I have already used VMware ESXi and Proxmox. It would be very nice if there was a way to make snapshots (for "backup" purposes). I read about clock problems (physical time != virtual t...

standalone PRI-to-SIP converter
I'm looking for recommendations for standalond PRI to SIP converters. (Needs to be outside the asterisk box - so a PCIe card won't do) I've used redfone but this project doesn't need the redundancy features... Thanks!

Converting from FXO to SIP?
I have a customer who has an analog PBX that is able to be put in "away mode" such that when an inbound call comes in, it rings their cordless phone. This lets them leave the desk without risking missing a call. However, we'd like to find a black box that would act like the cordless phone as far as the PBX was concerned, but instead of ringing a handset, we want it to dial an

IAXModem or T38Modem?
Hi all, I'm installing Hylafax on my Asterisk system. From what I've read, I can either use IAXModem or T38Modem to provide the virtual fax device. So at the risk of starting a religious war, which one should I use? I don't mind running IAX if I have to. I want as much flexibility and stability as I can get. So, what are your recommendations? Anyone have a reliable T.38 Solution
Aloha, We are looking to roll a solution that will have the following network layout: ISDN-PRI <--> Asterisk <--> T.38 <--> ATA <--> Fax Does version 1.8 with the Digium fax driver have this capability? I like 1.8 because it is a long term support version. What ATA's are people using? Any working solutions would be great! Aloha, Matt

I need a second opinion on a new phone system deployment
Howdy All, They say opinions are like belly buttons, everybody has one. (that's the "clean" version of the saying). So I'm asking for yours. I hope you see it as a fun exercise. I'm designing a phone system from the ground up. Will be about 1000-1300 seats mixed 80/20 VoIP/Analog. 58-acre campus environment with 23 buildings. Userbase is emergency services
