login from XP
Hello,
I'm having a problem logging in to the Samba domain from an XP machine. The machine is added to the domain but after reboot I can't login. I've done the signorseal registry hack but I'm still not able to login. The error I get when logging in is this:
"Windows cannot connect to the domain, either because the domain controller is down or otherwise unavailable, or

Some country codes are three digits long. Some are two.
e.g. UK 44 , Bermuda 441
Does anyone know a formula for determining which part of a dialled number is the country code and city code ?

Timeout for Queue
Hello,
We had an incident recently where a call was in queue for an extended period of time. We use queuemetrics for reporting, and it reports that the call was waiting for 20 minutes. The different thing about it is that the disconnect reason is stated as Timeout. Is there a set maximum time a call will wait in the queue before being automatically disconnected? I tried looking through the code

Map of British Colonial America 1775
Does anyone have suggestions about how to produce a map of British
Colonial America 1775? At that time, Great Britain had 26 colonies in
the Americas, including Bermuda, several Caribbean islands, "Quebec"
(extending then almost to New Orleans), Nova Scotia, Newfoundland,
Belize, and the 13 that declared independence in 1776.
I've reviewed the "map"

question on gps.prof in ismev
Dear all,
I'm trying to produce a log-likelihood profile for a GPD estimate with
the ismev package. When following the examples, everything is working
fine, i.e. I get a nice parabolic log-likelihood curve. When using my
own data (intensity of hurricanes at landfall), the log-likelihood curve
looks like a step function. Am I doing something wrong here? Is my data
not suited for the GPD fit?

Goto Question
Hello,
I'm running three asterisk boxes, spread across three different countries. One of the offices is running Asterisk 1.2.18 on the Druid Telephony Platform(not my choice, has been in before I started and haven't had the time to remove it).
My situation I have is based on the contexts already in place, particularly for outbound calls, I need to do a Goto sending the call back into the

Setting up an outgoing trunk group
Hi All,
I'm confused! My Asterisk system has a Zap trunk and three SIP trunks.
I'd like to configure the dialplan to route via the first trunk in a
list and if that's not available or it's busy, fall over to the
second, then to the third, etc.
AIUI Dial(Zap/1&SIP/out1&SIP/out2/${EXTEN}) rings all the trunks in
the list and bridges to the first to answer. Unfortunately,

r-project.org SSL certificate issues
Yes and no... At least as I understand it (Disclaimer: There are things I am pretty sure that I don't understand properly, somewhere in the Bermuda triangle beween CA bundles, TLS protocols, and Server-side settings), there are two sided to this:
One is that various *.r-project.org servers got hit by a fumble where a higher-up certificate in the chain of trust expired before the

At the cost of breaking the thread I'm going to change your subject and
replace 'Principle' by 'Principal'. I just can't stand it any longer...
OK, here is how I would solve your other problems. First put

VTd not showing PCI device in VM
I''m having trouble actually seeing a PCI device in my VMs. I''ve
resolved several of my issues using previous posts and using the
VTdHowTo wiki page. I have both VT and VTd BIOS options enabled. I
have pciback hiding the devices and xm can list and assign the devices
to VMs. I don''t see the PCI devices in my VMs though. I have tried a

r-project.org SSL certificate issues
You are making a very strong assumption that finding an alternative chain of trust is safe. I'd argue it's not - it means that an adversary could manipulate the chain in a way to trust it instead of the declared chain and thus subverting it. In fact switching to OpenSSL would create a serious security hole here - in particular since it installs a separate trust store which it is far more

r-project.org SSL certificate issues
My (also not expert) understanding is that there is nothing insecure about
alternative certificate chains at all. All browsers and macOS's built in
SSL library (secure transport) support them properly. OpenSSL and LibreSSL
were/are simply broken. This was not such a big issue so far, but now that
some old long lived certificates are expiring, it is increasingly an issue.
FWIW it is possible
