Bandwidth limiting
Hello.
I need help with limiting bandwidth. I have read every tutorial I''ve come
over and I just can''t make anything work.
Ok, here''s the scenario:
I have a gateway, which has five network interfaces (eth0 -> eth4), eth0 is
the ''external'' one and eth[1-4] are supposed to be limited to 128Kbit/s each.
The interfaces eth[1-4] each have a C-class

TEQL: 2 Mbit eth1 + 2Mbit eth2 = 1Mbit teql0
...8.254/24
eth1: 10.2.20.2/30 # First WAN connection
eth2: 10.2.20.6/30 # Second WAN connection
teql0: 10.2.20.10/30 # TEQL connection
On the WAN router I route 10.2.18.0/24 to 10.2.20.10 dev teql0.
On the LAN router I route anything from 10.2.18.0/24 to 10.2.20.9 dev teql0.
Thanks,
Daniel

time) I will stick with fxruby. But the ruby binding for Qt an Kde
really look interesting. In another project maybe?

pfifo_fast with bands
Hello,
I read about the pfifo_fast has 3 bands, which allow you to prioritize
traffic into these bands. I cannot find anything about these bands in the tc
command reference (http://linux.bergqvist.se/tc/). I might be looking the
wrong place - in which case, where should I look for help with this qdisc?
The idea is to give "time-critical" sessions such as ssh, telnet etc.
HIGHEST priority (based on fwmark), so these will not lag no matter how much
the connection is overloaded.

Moving On
Cross-posted to the blog (at

When Jamis Buck wrote last year about ceasing development on
Capistrano, his post really struck a chord with me. If this post
reminds you of that one, it''s because I re-read it before sitting down
to compose this one. It was the next best thing to having Jamis on
hand to give me a pep talk before I had to
