Is this a problem with "vars"? Maybe it will have to be updated soon with no
more need to ask for "MASS"? Is there another way to invoke "vars"?

A suggestion for the procedure exists (in Dorum et al. http://www.bepress.com/sagmb/vol8/iss1/art34/ , end of chapter 2.1), but a hint to a (fast) implementation would be greatly appreciated.

Analysis of poorly replicated array data
Greetings,
I have "inherited" a cDNA macroarray dataset that is structured as follows.
Three different stressors were tested. For each stressor, there are two
treatments (control and stressed). For each treatment, two biological
replicates exist, and these are paired (i.e., there is a stressed array for
colony A and a control array from this same colony). For one of these
samples,

Is there an R or S implementation of PAMSIL or PAMMEDSIL
I have some data that is dwarfed by one large cluster. I came across a
paper titled "A New Partitioning Around Medoids Algorithm" (van der
Laan, Pollard & Bryan, 2002) http://www.bepress.com/ucbbiostat/paper105/
that describes PAMSIL and PAMMEDSIL that look as though they might be
more appropriate for the data I have.
There does not appear to be much out there which is describing itself by
these names. So any help would be appreciated.
Tom

How to use Rmpi?
I need to rewrite a software in R, that runs on a cluster.
I thought Rmpi will be good for me but I can't find
any help other than the Rmpi-manual that actually only
describe the functions in the Rmpi package.
Can someone point me to some usefull guide?
For example, I would like to run a for-statement on
several processors (a subset of the statement on each
processor) but I can't figure

As I see it, the first recourse should be use of archives that

According to the documentation at http://docs.puppetlabs.com/puppet/2.7/reference/lang_conditional.html#if-statements,
you can test for truth with syntax like this:

AFAICT that''s not the case. The quotes around ''true'' make the comparison
always fail. Here''s my test case

enabling reproducible research & R package management & install.package.version & BiocLite
Hi,
In support of reproducible research at my Institute, I seek an approach to re-creating the R environments in which an analysis has been conducted.
By which I mean, the exact version of R and the exact version of all packages used in a particular R session.
I am seeking comments/criticism of this as a goal, and of the following outline of an approach:

Can I do a permutation test if the number of individuals in one group is much bigger than in the other group? I searched the literature but I didin´t find any assumption that refers to this subject for permutation tests.

Validation of R
Hi All
I am really very interested in starting to use R within our company. I
particularly like the open source nature of the product. My company is a
medical research company which is part of the University of London.
We conduct contract virology research for large pharma companies. My
question is how do we validate this software? I wonder if anyone else
has had the problem and might be able to
