[PATCH 1 of 4] libxl_device_generic_add: handle NULL fents or bents
libxl_device_generic_add: handle NULL fents or bents.
This is going to be used by libxl_console_add in the next patch to
avoid creating the device/console path on xenstore for console 0.

Using setfacl to control access to /dev/kqemu
...of a secuirty thought, I figured
I''d use setfacl to give myself access to the /dev/kqemu device instead
of leaving it mode 664 or 666.
However, that didn''t work. "getfacl /dev/kqemu" output''s this:
# file: /dev/kqemu
# owner: root
# group: root
user::rw-
user:bent:rwx #effective:rw-
group::rw- #effective:rw-
mask:rw-
other:r--
However, running qemu with kqemu enabled shows me the message that
kqemu acceleration is not enabled. Hmmm. Change to 664, it works. Argh.
This kind of hackery worked when I wanted to get read access to my...

Visual Studio Project file?
...o be able to compile
in Visual Studio 2008.
In order to do this I, as I understand it, need a .vcproj file for the
project.
Are there any plans on making such a file and maintaining it with the
original sourcecode?
I would be happy to help in the testing of it, should that be nessecary.

Hierarchial storage management or automated archival to tape
...will deal with ~100 TB of growth per year, most files somewhere
between 2 and 50 GB.
Yes, it can be done with everything in one filesystem, but I'm
concerned about running a full backup every month of 500 TB ;-) Not to
mention the time required for recovery in case the filesys crashes....

Traffic shaping problem
...oing traffic.
tc qdisc add dev eth4 root tbf rate 300mbit burst 300kb latency 50ms
But the server became rather instable, crashing repeatedly without
anything in the logs.
Can anybody spot glaring mistakes in the tc command above,
or tell me what I should have done instead?

How to plot log histograms?
...draw the log frequency on the y-axis,
but I can't see whether I can use "hist" for this. The purpose of such a
plot is to see whether data are normal or Laplace or something else.
- and the same question for kernel density estimates using "density".
many thanks in advance

MySQL issues with kernel-2.6.18-53.1.6.el5.x86_64.rpm
Hi all!
Just a word of warning: after updating a few of our x86_64 based web
frontend boxes to the new kernel, we began to get weird MySQL
timeouts. The problem went away again when we downgraded to the
previous kernel-2.6.18-53.1.6.el5.x86_64.rpm

Correcting Bent Records: Mongrel is not SCGI
Hi,
I kept getting a very weird question about Mongrel
(http://mongrel.rubyforge.org) and SCGI that I think really needs to be
cleared up:
** Mongrel is not SCGI and will never need, use, require, or interact with
SCGI (unless someone wants to write the handler for it). **
For some reason people have been under the impression that Mongrel actually
uses or interacts with my other project SCGI

Largish filesystems [was Re: XFS install issue]
...hat XFS was fairly safe for use. What would
you recommend for filesystems in the 50-500 terabyte range?
(And yes, we do actually run a 70 TB at the moment, so I'm not asking
just to annoy you; I'm genuinely interested in your opinion as well as
those of others, so feel free to chip in)

A question is this connection:
When will these additions make their way into the Asterisk mainstream
I would like to use IPv6 in order to get around all issues connected

Samba Compile Error on 3.0.7 and 3.0.8 Pre 1 on X64 Fedora

A medicine to this problem should be found, and I am sure it exists because a samba 3.10.x rpm compiled for Fedora Core 3 64 bit is in existence. Sadly, I havent' been able to find those settings. Maybe someone knows?
