Intel Displayport on Centos 7
Since my current monitor appears to be slowly dying, I'm looking for a replacement. I generally use hardware replacement as an excuse to get something bigger/better/faster than what I had before, so I'm currently considering something like a BenQ GW2765HT. The manual for my Intel motherboard has this to say about DisplayPort on the built-in graphics controller: QUOTE: DisplayPort?s maximum supported display resolution is 2560 x 1600 at a 60 Hz refresh rate with a 16:10 aspect ratio (WQXGA). END OF QUOTE It also states that the maximum su...

[Bug 75800] New: [NVE4] [GTX660Ti] Pink line on left side of monitor and slightly blurry areas on screen
...Status: NEW Version: unspecified Component: Drivers/DRI/nouveau Product: Mesa Created attachment 95171 --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=95171&action=edit Additional dmesg and Xorg logs When connecting my graphics card to my monitor (BenQ V2400 Eco) via HDMI the behaviour described in the summary can be observed (as early as mode set via KMS). Example pictures of the pink line can be seen in the linked Arch Linux forums thread, the blurred areas are especially visible when viewing text. Lowering resolution (xrandr --output ... --mod...

problems with NVS310
I have two monitors connected to the PC. One is an AOC 23" (1920 x 1080) and the other is a BenQ 27" (2560 x 1440). Nothing special about them. BenQ has a display port and the AOC uses some sort of DVI adapter. I have this event many times and I captured dmesg twice. At least at one time I captured dmesg my computer was under high load: it had about 15 to 20 windows opened (spreadshee...

Initial Boot from 6.3 minimal halts with strange video display
...ay was normal throughout that process. When the system boots from disk then I get the normal display up to the point that the kernel is selected (whether by hand or automatically). I can edit the kernel command line and otherwise use the pre-boot selector facility. After that point the monitor, a BenQ 17" LCD, immediate goes into what I can only describe as a psychedelic snow field with two narrow black bands surrounding a broader white band displayed at the top of the screen and a single narrower black band at the bottom. I have tried booting into RL3 by appending a 3 to the end of the ke...

web meetme instructions
This has to be the worst documentation I have ever come acrossed. I have found two or three docs on how to install it, but they are all so different and make huge assumption about what packages you have installed and locations of files. Has anyone seen something better, I want to get this working it is quite a cool app. Jordan Novak Communications Technician Logistics Health Inc. 1319 Saint

5.x install - loses display when launching anaconda
...386 or x86_64) on a new system from an install DVD. As soon as the installer launches anaconda, the screen shuts off and from this point I'm unable to switch to any other tty. This is an Intel core2duo machine on an Intel P35 chipset motherboard, Geforce 8400GS video card connected to a BenQ 20" widescreen LCD. Any ideas what could cause this behaviour or how to debug further (obviously I can't see any error messages as my virtual consoles are no loner available)? I think I'll try installing via a serial console when I get home and see if I have more success. Rega...

2460x1440 video card recommendation
...without requiring any outside video drivers? I would prefer to stay with the built-in video drivers that are included with Centos 7 if possible; I don't play games and such, so I'm not looking for high performance 3D -- I just want a high resolution desktop. I'm currently looking at a BenQ GW2765HT which is 2560x1440, though I might end up with something else in the end. -- MELVILLE THEATRE ~ Real D 3D Digital Cinema ~ www.melvilletheatre.com

zaptel and callerid in ESTI DTMF
Hello! I'm using Asterisk 1.4.18 (I've tried 1.4.19,1.4.21 too) and zaptel version 1.4.11. Card is "Digium Wildcard TDM800P", with driver wctdm24xxp. From Asterisk side this card has FXS ports, and FXO from outside. I've connect to them GSM-FXO gateway Benq C5 APC-868 (http://www.kontec.ru/c5.php). The problem is that this equipment sends caller id information in format 'ESTI DTMF', which is not compatible with parameter 'cidsignalling = dtmf' in 'zapata.conf'. So, Asterisk didn't receive callerid information from device. I...

CentOS, laptop & DLP
I have an old Toshiba Tecra 8100 that I run CentOS on - it's running 5.3 although not completely up to date at the moment. About a year ago, a club I help administer bought a BenQ DLP so we could show movies and do other projector things more easily than lugging around a 27" TV set. It worked just fine, but the behavior of the system with it has changed over the year and I'm curious if anyone might know why. When I first connected the DLP, the laptop (and CentOS)...

problems with NVS310
I have a Nvidia NVS310 installed in my Linux computer for a few years. It works well with the Nvidia driver, and not so well with the Linux nouveau driver. The Nvidia NVS310 has never worked well with Linux. In the beginning (many years ago) I decided to install Nvidia proprietary drivers, but every kernel upgrade would require an additional effort to have the driver working. That was enough
