Centos 5 OpenOffice 2.0.4-5.4.17.2
Content-type: Multipart/Alternative; boundary="Alt-Boundary-19583.13106888" --Alt-Boundary-19583.13106888 I noticed that there are no openoffice.org-xxx-2.0.4-5.4.17.2 rpms in Centos 5 update. So I tried to build openoffice 2.0.4-5.4.17.2 (sans language packs) on a x86_64 from RH 5 source rpm. The build bombed after an hour elapsed and it used up about 10 GB of space with an error

Samba Upgrade on Centos 3

converting a string to an integer vector
Hi All, Thanks in advance for your help. I'm trying to convert a string to an integer vector. For instance, I will start with a <- "1,2" The result I want to end up with will be the equivalent of c(1,2) What's the best way to make the conversion? I've tried using as.integer(a), but R seems to balk at that. Thanks, Ben -- View this message in context:

pgadmin3
Anyone been able to get pgadmin3 installed on CentOS-4 ? The WxGTK2 stuff makes it impossible for me to get installed from RPM/SRPM from their site and likewise, couldn't rebuild from Fedora SRPMS either. I figure between Jim and Owen and ???, somebody might have succeeded where I would be doomed. I can get around with phppgadmin but pgadmin3 is pretty cool. Thanks Craig

parsing a structured object
Hi All, Thanks in advance for your help. I take this to be a very basic question, but I'm very new to R. I'm trying to figure out how to parse an object. I have the following: > fileLocation location 1 foo.csv > fileLocation$location [1] foo.csv Levels: foo.csv What I want to get back is

Multivariable linear regression
Hi, I need to do some multivariable linear regression from RoR. I have found one possible solution: 1. Install R on my host (Dreamhost) 2. Use the "R for Ruby" gem Using a complex statistical package such as R seems a bit complicated however, and I am wondering if you would have a simpler solution ? The data is gathered online from the user, stored in the mySQL database, and I need

Probably OT: Has anyone else seen SeaMonkey 'pop' without warning?
I sent a bug report to Mozilla about this, but I was hoping someone here might have an insight on this. I use SeaMonkey as my default browser (32-bit even though I'm running x86_64 CentOS 5.1), version 1.1.7. Shortyl after installing 1.1.7 on my 5.0 (and even since 5.1), I noticed that every so often, seemingly at random, although it appears most frequently when I click on something that

CentOS 3.8 Kernel Update with NVIDIA Video Card
I need some advice. I updated the kernel but when I restarted my computer I got the following error message: -- I cannot start the X server (your graphical interface). It is likely that it is not set up correctly. ... Failed to load the NVIDIA kernel module! -- I've started my computer using the old kernel. I found out that there's a new nvidia driver so I will also update it.

ipw2200 Stats MT in /proc/net/wireless
In 5100 and 1100 series Inspirons Intel 2915abg cards work MUCH cooler than the original Broadcoms, don't choke up in hot weather like the original Dell cards and don't require ndiswrapper. (All of 2 Notebooks were tested outdoors at 98 deg F ambient. Dropouts occured in both Centos 4.4 & XP on these dual boot notebooks with the Dell Mini-PCI's, none with 2915's). The only

WPA-2 (WPA Enterprise) fails with the new kernel(s) using ndiswrapper and wpa_supplicant. I haven't tried other authentication modes because that entails changes in the wireless setup which I am loathe to make right now. (It's a Broadcom mini pci card, so I have to use ndiswrapper with this Dell laptop. Bummer!). Rebuilding the newest wpa_supplicant rpm from the FC5 source rpm's

Iptables Rpm Missing Modules
The current build of iptables does not appear to include some modules. Among these are ipt_recent.so, a very handy module in deflecting the current flurry of sshd dictionary attacks. Lineox appears to have the same problem. This is because the RedHat source rpm spec file is not explicit in the kernel directory location and that omission affects these few modules. RealTek 8168B (Rev 02) Issue
The 8168B (02) NIC works well except that it does not go into promiscuous mode despite advertising itself in that mode after being so directed with ifconfig. Unfortunately, the little box is destined to be an IDS monitor, so that function is essential. The board is an Intel Atom 330 run as x86_64, the nic is internal. We tried three drivers: the one in the 2.6.18-128.1.10.el5 kernel yields
