Using Intel Quick-Sync with GPU capable Intel CPUs
Rogue S.T asked about checking out graphics cards which brought the question to me... Is it possible to make Intel on-CPU GPU resources to Windows 10? (the box I'm working with has Xeon E5-2640v4 CPUs which should be QuickSync capable) What else do I have to do to take advantage of this? Just load the drivers? Thanks,  -Ben

Re: kvm/libvirt on CentOS7 w/Windows 10 Pro guest
Why do you reckon this is to do with your virtualisation system (presumably qemu/kvm, though you don't say) rather than Windows 10? kvm/libvirt on CentOS7 w/Windows 10 Pro guest
Hey all, New to list, so I apologize if this has been asked a bunch already...  Is there something I'm missing with Windows 10 as a guest that keeps Windows Updates from nuking the boot process? I just did an orderly shutdown and windows updated itself <I forgot to disable in time> only to reboot to the diagnostics screen which couldn't repair. going to command prompt and doing

Re: kvm/libvirt on CentOS7 w/Windows 10 Pro guest
Hey all,  This horrid bug seems to be back after the system got all sloggy slow so I logged in via RDP and asked Windows to reboot. It was taking forever for RDC to come back, so I logged into the system and brought up KVM GUI which displayed Windows showing the login backdrop with "Restarting..." and the spinning dots. After about 20min, I gave up and clicked the hardware reset. Now

Windows guest stalls during reboot
Hey all, Quick question. I have a (RHEL/CentOS v7)  Windows 10 Pro (64bit)  guest that shutdown just fine (i.e. KVM shows the host as shut down), but when Windows is set to reboot, KVM Manager shows the guest screen as shut down, but KVM Manager shows the guest as still running and the system never reboots. If I do 'virsh list' -- there's no guest running. If I do 'virch start

KVM on CentOS 7 - sluggish performance with Win10 Guest
Hey all,  I've been running a Win10 Pro (64bit) guest for some time now.... and originally it was pretty snappy and I had no complaints. Somewhere in about the last 3-6 months I've been noticing sluggish performance -- but not overall. The system is mostly remote so I do a lot of my admin via RDP or the local console with the KVM Manager. I recently did a complete fresh install of

Windows Guest on KVM running "single core" after windows update
Hey all, I have a Windows 10 pro (64bit) long time running as a libvirt/KVM guest that I think Windows Update finally narfed. The hardware is a supermicro motherboard with dual Intel E5-2640 CPUs for a total of 40 threads and 64GB The guest is allocated 2sockets, 5cores, 2 threads and 32GB of RAM. (I've also tried 1 socket, 20 cores, 1 thread and 1s10c2t -- no help) In an SSH session to
