ACLs on Samba share not preserved when copying with Windows Explorer
...ministration_guides/samba_reference_guide/23_AccessControls_25.html
When configuring the ACLs on my share, I have used setfacl exclusively for
configuring permissions (as you suggested), however the situation I described
originally is the result.

which translate to Windows? 7 Professionnel N
But when I look at it using dsa.msc I can read "Windows 7

Hi,
You may have a look at
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Updating_Samba#Updates_of_early_Samba_4_version_on_Samba_Active_Directory_DCs
Don't forget <<Fixing dynamic DNS update problems>> at the end of the page.
Hope this help.

file server
Hello,
I am using samba4 as AD DC and file sharing.
I would like to setup a dedicated file server cluster on 2 nodes using ctdb to
separate the role (authentication/file sharing), and join the cluster to the
domain.
I am not clear on which version of samba I sould use for the file server
cluster : latest samba 3 + krb5 or latest samba 4 (using smbd and winbindd) ?
both accept the clustering

windows and nfs4 acls
Hi everyone
We're really struggling with nfs4 <--> windows acls.
Scenario
Samba4 share --> cifs --> win7. No problem
Samba4 share --> nfs4 --> Linux. acls not inherited
Neither is there inheritance vica versa.
e.g. It is not possible to create files with group rw on a umask 0022
nfs4 share. nfs4_setfacl cannot override umask. Using POSIX or windows
acls this works

winbind against samba4 AD DC
Hello,
Could you please give me some precision about the current state of the winbind
support on a member server. I have tried to list what I understand about it.
(I suppose that the libnss_winbind symlink are correct in /lib and/or lib64)
* samba4 join as member
join: samba-tool domain join <dnsdomain> MEMBER
smb.conf should contain: idmap_ldb:use rfc2307 = yes
the AD DC doesn't
