vde on tinc
...it removed
intentionally? I couldn't find an update in ChangeLog.
Besides, the newest code in git fails to compile, because of a redefined
extern static variable in src/vde/device.c. I need to remove the offencing
line to compile.
Now I am staying with tinc git HEAD using vde.

UDP Listening a Different Port
..., I can set
...
Port = 80
...
However, an httpd is running on the public node, occupying TCP 80.
How can I configure tinc to bind on TCP 8080 but listen to UDP 80?
Redirecting UDP 80 to UDP 8080 on the public node is one method. Is
there a more elegant way to achieve this?
Cheers,

tincd without root privileges
hey,
is there a way to run tinc on a (linux) box, with a public ip,
but on which i don't have root privileges ?
the server just connects nodes (behind natted firewall) & relays
their traffic, so no need for tap/tun interface on the box itself.

tinc optimal packet route selection
...to
copy big files A <-> X <-> B by hand.
It is more like a routing protocol thing. But I am not familiar with
it. I was considering employing OSPF inside my tinc network while I
found it really mind boggling for a tinc switch VPN.
Hints and ideas are really appreciated.

booting from local disk
Hi,
I've mostly set up a kickstart for RedHat 8.0.
I'm using the instructions posted by Alf W. :
http://www.stanford.edu/~alfw/PXE-Kickstart/PXE-Kickstart.html
The whole thing works, except when I go to reboot the system it hangs.
ie.

Rationale behind MACExpire
...cast=direct. In this
configuration, tinc only takes care of the tunnel mesh, leaving
forwarding completely to babeld and kernel.
I find the connections getting interrupted whenever the MAC address of
the tinc interface changes. I have to set MACExpire=31536000 to
tinc.conf mitigate this.

pxelinux v2.00 & localboot hanging
Is there a solution to pxelinux v2.00 hanging with 'localboot 0' ?
I haven't had a good time with v1.76 due to the UNDI corruption bug.
I just subscribed and I've searched the archives up to 12/5.
