therefore different ranges etc. Why? The semi-variance is of course 6
orders of magnitude higher but the values are the same. So from my
point of view it should be the same fit. Maybe there is a reason for
this I do not get.
Hopefully someone could reply to this question.
Thanks, Sascha Bellaire!

graphics examples
Hi
I have put up some web pages containing a number of plots (and diagrams)
produced using R (they correspond to the figures for a book that I am
working on about R graphics), with the relevant R code provided for each
plot (or diagram), at
http://www.stat.auckland.ac.nz/~paul/RGraphics/rgraphics.html
Hope these are of some help/use; comments/suggestions welcome.

Using a vendor's dll library from Linux
...make it possible for me
to interface with these dlls from linux (even if they call some commom MS
Windows dlls themselves). Am I correct? If so, could someone please point
me in the direction of some documentation? The dlls work with Windows 9x.
Thanks,

SWAT issue
I have had a RH5.2 server running Samba up for a long time. I upgraded to
Mandrake 6.0. It broke Samba, so I reinstalled using the RPM on the CD.
Samba works just fine, but SWAT will not! If I try to start it manually
(/usr/sbin/swat) it just hangs.
In /etc/services I have a line like this:
swat 901/tcp
In /etc/inetd.conf I have:
swat stream tcp nowait.400 root

R for various ports of linux
To all:
I currently download the R binaries for Redhat 7.x Linux.
There is considerable turmoil in the vendors of Linux. Redhat
apparently is changing it's business model to paid versions.
This might motivate my department to use a different vendor of Linux.
Is there anything predictable about which vendors/versions of Linux
will have R binaries in the future?
Thanks,
Nathan
