Xen disk device detach fails as non-root [libvirt-0.8.7 and older versions]
Hi All, I find that I am able to attach a disk device do a Xen domain, using virDomainAttachDevice(), running as a non-root user, but I am unable to use virDomainDetachDevice() - it results in an "unknown failure". Using "virsh [attach|detach]-device" exhibits this behviour. $ virsh attach-device domu1 attach.xml Device attached successfully $ virsh detach-device domu1 attach.xml error: Failed to detach device from attach.xml error: Unknown failure $ With some digging, I determined that the problem arises when libvirt tries to translate the device name to a number...

[PATCH] x86/EFI: define and use EFI_DIR make variable, defaulting to /usr/lib64/efi
...1ab0cae2c870942c2e1b6bc3a507b1a40dae16 # Parent 9950f2dc2ee6dfd172258a5a4ee29809b0ff8263 x86/EFI: define and use EFI_DIR make variable, defaulting to /usr/lib64/efi After commit 25594:ad08cd8e7097, EFI Xen binaries were installed to /efi instead of /usr/lib64/efi. simple recommendations
...ients, is it ever possible to do this without using a PC domain member? My experience of this is that it is not, ie if you try and add a group that exists on the server from the PC it just gives an error so permissions must be modified on the *NIX side. Would be good to know if this is the expected behviour or if I've just not got things configured correctly (I have this situation currently on a test install with a Samba AD DC), thanks in advance, Andy.

rails 2.3.8 and html_safe
Hi, Can somebody update me on the state of html_safe strings in rails 2.3.8? I know rails 2.3.6 and 2.3.7 broke a lot of code because strings were being escaped when they shouldn''t have been and I thought this was all fixed in 2.3.8. I''m upgrading an app from 2.3.5 to 2.3.8 and there are many spots where previous code was output correctly and now it expects html_safe method

Samba problem - write fails
...aused them not to be able to use some software (using a dialup), and they got some tech support which changed it back. Someone on the Redhat list suspected the size of the share was too large. The size (actually 9 gig free) does not seem to be an issue, as the win98 machine exhibits the same behviour on a smaller share. I have one other problem. I put an access database (.mdb) file on the server. When more than one user tries to acces the file they get a sharing violation. AAF: find_by_contents on AR Association Total Hits
...ent => "Once upon a time in a country quite far away.") b2.page.add(:content => "There lived a man with his cat.") results = b1.pages.find_by_content("cat) results.total_hits #=> 3 results.results.length #=> 2 b1.pages.total_hits #=> 3 Is this the expected behviour? Is there any way to get total_hits to report the total_hits only for the pages belonging to b1? It will make pagination very difficult otherwise. Poor Man''s Continuations
...it won''t work reliably. However, there should be a way of specifying these extra inputs (if you put them in a session var, it will work). At the moment, after_filters won''t be called for actions that re-route half way through, but I haven''t figured out what the desired behviour should be in this case yet. So is this of interest to anyone? If so, should I just post the code to the list? Or somewhere else? Any comments welcome Cheers, and thanks for reading, Ian

Hairpinning problems using IAX2 and SIP
Asterisk 1.2.7 RedHat 9.0 I frequently have the need to redirect calls that come in on a DiD provisioned by my ITSP, back to the ITSP so that they can terminate the call on the PSTN. For example when an external call comes in, I often have to send it to a cell phone. I believe that this is referred to as "hairpinning" the call. I do this by answering the incoming call and then I use
