Strange behaivour with extended characters
...ng squirrelmail. The funny thing is that the problem dos not appear when using Evolution or Outlook (the MS Office component). I move some pamrs in dovecot.conf and get some results (before moving them, the problem extended to attachements), but still remains as described. Somebody has seen such a behaivour and solved it? I was thinking to change dovecot for another agent, but will be happier using dovecot. Any suggestion? Thanks in advice.

Samba4 alpha >20 version: Samba & smbd daemons !
...lly and with with some parameters such as --configfile and --foreground (but without -D parametr that is not as daemon) .After Samba is started there are 2 processes: Samba & smbd.1. So, after killing of Samba process samba doesn' t delete samba.pid & smb-fileserver.conf.pid, is it riht behaivour of its daemons ?As I remembered nmbd daemon does - it deletes nmbd.pid file.Does Samba daemon have to delete its pid file and pid files of all other processes started by it, in particular smbd process or not ? 2. When Samba are not run and smbd hsa been started without Samba daemon, there 2 process...

SaMBa functional level

It is more a warning for the future, when you do upgrade, just to be aware that running different versions for a long time won't be a great idea. Nothing catastrophic, but you won't be able to rely on the new security features until only n...

FETCH FLAGS in response to SORT and SEARCH commands
...)) S: * 971 FETCH (FLAGS (\Seen $NotJunk NonJunk JunkRecorded)) S: A004 OK Search completed Mozilla Thunderbird and Apple Mail seem to be able to cope with this, but squirrelmail chokes when it receives those flags. I get them only for my INBOX and not for other folders like sent mail, so the behaivour seems to depend on the content of the folder. It occurrs at least with dovecot 1.0alpha4 and 1.0alpha5 using maildir. I have not tested other versions / mbox format. Is this behaviour expected? regards, Michael

SaMBa functional level
Hi, I would like to connect our AD to the Azure AD. As I see, it needs 2012_R2 functional level. I don't have any Windows AD DC. Is it safe to raise the functional level to 2012_R2 in production environment? I read that 4.19 has initial support for 2019 schema, and for the 2016 functional level, but the 2012 support is still not complete. Thanks, Tamas Pisch

ISDN RAS and data calls
It seems like when I use PPPD-command, or ZapRAS, Asterisk doesn't make it a "data" call, but a regular voice-call. My ISP change their behaivour depending on the incoming call-type (data or voice). If it's voice, they try to open up a V.90 connection. Else (data call) it will reply with PPP directly. The both methods uses the same modem pool number. How can I tell Asterisk to inititate a data-call instead of voice-call? I'm using...

Example for attr_accessible?
Is anyone out there writing specs to check attr_accessible fields? I had originally written my spec to check for allowing the desired fields, and then none of the other regular db fields. Unfortunately this isn''t satisfactory, because attr_protected could have been used instead, which of course wouldn''t prevent mass assignment to any whatever=(val) method. I''m thinking
