[LLVMdev] Code ownership for PS4 target
As you might have noticed, we’ve begun landing patches to open source the Sony PlayStation®4 system compiler. Many more are coming. I’d like to propose that I be named code owner for this platform. I already have this role internally for open source. It feels necessary to establish as part of the process to handle external contribution...

Roxygen vs Sweave for S4 documentation
Hi, I have been using R for a while. Recently, I have begun converting my package into S4 classes. I was previously using Rdoc for documentation. Now, I am looking to use the best tool for S4 documentation. It seems that the best choices for me are Roxygen and Sweave (I am fine with tex). Are there any users of Roxygen or Sweave who can comment on the s...

CentOS 5 and bittorrent
...idth needs. I was really hesitant to use bittorrent for this type of thing for a long time. However, it really is nice to give back at least what you take. At the moment, I'm seeing almost 3000 connections to the torrent. That times 3.5 gigs is a pretty huge chunk of data... and it has just begun. What I'm getting at here, is CentOS gives a LOT! If you have never considered doing your downloads via a torrent, please do consider this and try to give back at least the bandwidth you use. I'm sure the CentOS team will appreciate this more than you will ever know. Me? I'm downlo...

Recommended textbooks for R?
Hi everyone! I've recently begun to learn R for my job as the IT department suffers from lack of funding for new software. I was talking to the guy in charge of Requisitions and have found out the budget for books is in great shape. So, I'm curious what books people know of that have R examples and are good for: 1.) Uni...

Fixtures Error With Rails 2.1 (and 2.0.2)
I have begun to use the reference function feature of sexy migrations, and I have noticed that the fixtures are actually not playing nice with this new feature. If I create a model, whose table has this line: t.reference :user the fixure will look like one: user: when it should be user_id, now, it may be...

[LLVMdev] lib/System Unleashed - Need Your Help!
Folks, With some MacOS help from Nate, I've begun the conversion of LLVM to use lib/System, the operating system independence layer. Currently, the library has implementations for three abstractions: Path, Program, and Signals. These provide some basic utilities for manipulating file system paths, finding and executing programs, and cleaning up af...

Counterpart for Matlab's 'feval'?
Hi! I've just begun writing a program that searches for the minimum of a function with golden section search. In order to do this in a nice way I need a function that takes a function name and an argument and returns the function value for that argument, i .e just like Matlab's 'feval'. Is there any?...

AJAX Insertion.Before
Can anyone point me to an example of how to use the Insertion. Before technique? I''ve just begun trying to use AJAX and worked through Curt''s "Ajax on Rails". The description in AWD of what this does is just what I need, there''s no example of how to use it, and I''m getting no joy using Google. [LLVMdev] Data structures and algorithms in IL
Has anyone begun collating data structures and algorithms written in LLVM's IL? I am just considering how to implement my first GC and it would help enormously if I could just pull in a concurrent queue written in IL, for example. -- Dr Jon Harrop, Flying Frog Consultancy Ltd. http://www.ffconsultancy.com/...

Move listeners problems
Hi! I'm using Icecast 2.3.1 (xubuntu Hardy) and have problems moving listeners. I thought it had to do with the client, but now that I've tested cortado, mplayer and vlc I've begun to think it is actually the server. I'm using the web administration interface to move listeners, get '1' as result code but all clients hang after the buffer is empty. Any ideas/pointers? /Mathias

changes to Story Runner steps
Hi all, The following only affects people who have bravely begun to experiment with the 2 day-old plain text story runner and definable groups of steps. For those who fit that bill, I just committed a few changes that will require you to make changes to your code. The StepMatchers class is now the StepGroup class. The step_matchers methods on PlainTextStoryRu...

Upon reboot, the system would boot off of local disk. scp problem (openssh-2.9p2)
Hello all, scp does not preserve links (neither soft neither hard) It is a problem with recursive option (-r) when you met some links like Openssh -> . In 2.3.0p1 it failled because of too long argument. Also I upgrade (my client an HPUX-11.0 and my server an redhat-6,2 x86) openssh to the last release 2.9p2. But this release create in a loop (i presume until fs full) subdirectories
