...ro and variance=1, so I thought I needed to multiply ppr's fitted values by the standard deviation of award (pprest$ys) and then add in the mean of award (pprest$yb), but the result is still way off from the fitted values from supsmu. Does anyone have any thoughts about this? Thanks, David N. negative binomial

In my model I am including about 10 covariates to start with, and I have beed attempting to fit a NEGATIVE BINOMIAL MODEL. The problem is the function glm.nb neither glm(formula, family=negative.binomial(k),data) work when I have all covariates in the model. But when we fit only intercept or few covariates, the algorithm converge. I also fitted the logistic binary (binomial)...

Just about "approximate F-test"

Slopes and intercepts for the independent regressions were compared with an *approximate

Sapphire registration
Hey all, If you tried to register with the Sapphire project but were unsuccessful, please try again. I didn''t have the email settings properly set, so I wasn''t getting the approval notifications. In any case, I''ve changed the project settings so that you should be able to login immediately after registration, without having to wait for admin approval. Regards,

ppr, number of terms, and data ordering
Dear R listers -- I have several questions about using the ppr command in the modreg module. I discovered -- quite by accident -- that if I re-order the data, I obtain different results. The output below shows what I mean. I have two datasets (dataset1 and dataset2) that are identical (tested using proc compare in SAS) except for the fact that the records are in different order. Below I have

R-alpha: New version of R for testing
...ence problems in glm from Thomas Lumley included. o A new version of qt() should not take infinitely long to get an answer in the large degrees if freedom case. The underlying code (Hill 1970, CACM) appears to be much faster and more accurate than Splus. o A final Newton step has beed added to give a final "polish" to the quantiles produced by pnorm(). These should be close to full accuracy now. o A bug in qbeta found by Martin Maechler has been fixed. This should speed up quantile computation for the F and Beta distributions. o rainbow(.) now allows...
