Softswitch
Pardon my ignorance, but I was hoping someone could clear up something for
me.
- For a few POTS lines, digium has a single port card for that, or a T1 card
to a channel bank.
- For 10 or more lines, digium has a T1 or E1 card for that too based on PRI
channels
- For 100's to 1000's of lines, I suspect a soft-switch is in order???
A traditional phone company will sell:

FXO line hum w/ Z-plex 10
I've recently begun integrating an Asterisk system into my house. I
purchased the Dev Kit a year or two ago when Digium was selling it as a
Z-plex 10 channel bank with the T100P.
I've recently found that when I connect the serial monitoring port to my
system it introduces a noticable hum on my incoming FXO lines. Anyone
know (or have suggestions about) how to prevent this?

Channel Bank - Vina T-1 Integrator
Has anyone tried a Vina T-1 Integrator as a channel bank with Asterisk?
They appear to be plentiful, but I want to make sure I'm not buying a
brick.

Re: Asterisk-Users digest, Vol 1 #1835 - 12 msgs
...the Telco's only allow
SS7 products they have tested and certified.
I wonder what would happen if the carrier provided VOIP channels. I suppose
it would still use T1s, but with what form of signaling?
Cheers,
Darren

1800 Provider
Hi list,
I'm interested in receiving incoming call to my Asterisk PBX thru an 1800 number. Anybody knows a provider with best minute rate? I heard that that Nufone can provide this service for around 3cents/min for calls made within 48 continental states. Any provider that can give better rate, even with additional limitation such as much few states that a call can originate? How do

Call Rate in CDR
So what do people think about adding the "call rate" to the CDR
structure??
This would allow you to detail a call with the rate that was
in affect for that call. When you come back later and do
the billing for the customer you would have the actual per min
rate in the record.
I think this solves an issue when you have changing rates and
multiple providers. If one provider is down,

Significant performance problems
Hi all,
I'm sure my issues are a result of misconfiguration, but I'm hoping
someone can point me in the right direction. I'm getting pressure to
move us back to GroupWise, which I desperately want to avoid :-/

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list.
I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without
modifications.
How did I try it?
Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock )
Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a
rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee
prep-out.log
The build failed at the end:
