DNS server and printing.
...ur provider, which I've plugged into the DHCP config file pointing out to the external world. What, if any benefits, would I receive if I were to set up the Samba server to include DNS support? But then again, is this even a question I should be asking here! LOL thanks in advance! Darin Bawden dbawden@teamdme.com

RE: [Private] RH8 and Samba 3
Gordon, I did as you suggested, and that seems to have fixed it. Thanks for the suggestion However, this is contrary to the given docs on how to use CUPS with Samba, is it not? Right now, I have to send an email to everyone warning them about password expiration. that gets kind of old. Thanks for the help! Darin Bawden, Technical Support Spectrum Software, Inc

Use client driver
Good day everyone, Just a quick question. When using Samba 2.2.7a and Cups 1.17 or 1.18, is it good or bad to use "Use client driver" as a share setting on the Printers share? I used it with LPD, but I'm not real sure it's necessary with cups. Thanks in advance Darin Bawden TeamDME! Technical Support (615) 333-1900 dbawden@teamdme.com

cups printing
I have searched around the samba documentation, including the smb.conf man page, and have found nothing regarding the cups printing system except change printcap to cups. Now, I have done that, but printing still does not work. I need some types of details and a sample smb.conf and/or any other relevant documentation. Thanks much, George D. Plymale

Samba 3, Windows XP SP1
Hello everyone, I am having a problem I can't find an answer to. Background: We had a RH 7.3/8.0 box with samba 2.2.7. Workstations were Windows 2000. We have 5 roaming users with laptops. when the roaming users would go home, they were able to log into the laptops without the presence of the domain (an yes, they were logging into the domain user at home). Current problem: Running RH 9.0

Problems with the rsync command line syntax for multiple files
I feel completely stupid for asking this question, but I have an essential problem of getting the syntax right for synchronizing multiple files. I am trying to use rsync to synchronize files generated in one directory with our public directory our web server. We have a number of files with the extension html so I have tried the following command line: rsync *.html

[OT} Speakeasy.net
A little off topic this morning...I'm thinking about switching out of Comast's clutches to another high-speed service. I've tried TDS DSL, but they were half the speed comast was/is. I''ve looked into Speakeasy, since I heard a few of ya talking about them. Since I had TDS, that kinda tells me I can get DSL. I live in Mount Juliet, on MT juliet road, behind the
