matching problem
I have a matching problem that I cant solve.
mystring = "xxx{XX}yy{YYY}zzz{Z}" where "x","X","y","Y","z","Z" basiclly can
be anything, letters, digits etc. I'm only interested in the content within
each "{}".
I am close but not really there yet.
library(gsubfn)
strapply(mystring,"\\{[^\\}]+",, perl=F)
gives me
[[1]]

HTB classid problem
...than 1:19999, eg:
tc class add dev eth1 parent 1:21 classid 1:21006 htb rate 256kbit burst 10k
it thows out "RTNETLINK answers: Invalid argument"
I am using Fedora core 3 and what I am trying to do here is regulating each mac''s
packets attached under access point. so basiclly parent 1:21 stands for an access point, and 1:21xxx stands for one device id attached to it. originally we had no more
than 50 macs per AP, eg: 1:2101 for upload, 1:2102 for download per mac address.
so 1:21xx can cover 50 macs.
now when I want to add more than 50 macs under one AP, th...

smbmounts hang around after windows client disconnects
Using 2.2.1a and a 2.4 kernel patched for win4lin.
Everything is working but:
I mount all the available network shares on my linux box as root to one
network directory.
If a windows client shuts down while the linux box is still connected, the
share is not removed from my mount list or from /proc/mounts
It cannot be removed with umount. I can kill the smbmount with kill -15 but
the share is still

Wine problem: well, wine windows go unresponsive..alot, and for some reason, wine only uses the top left 800x600 section of my screen, if anything is outside this section, it is garbled mess, and since you can't move windows around in wine, i am basiclly screwed in that aspect. How do i fix this?

Problem with SCO ODT 5.0.4 and samba
...Samba 2.0.5a - compiled with SCO cc.
Computers 1 and 2 run samba with no problems at all. However, Computer 3
gives me a core dump when ever I run the SAMBA startup program. Below is
what I get from the samba log. The operating system on computer #1 and #3
are the same. The ifconfig and route and basiclly the same except for the
computers own IP number. All three computers are on a 8 port HUB with
Two NT Servers (one Pent and one 486/50) and two Windows 98 machines
(both
Pents).

Accessing codec_setup members through a vorbis_info variable
...m just concerned with 44kHz and above stereo
coupled modes. I have done the grunt work of converting the 44kHz
static code and res book data structures to java classes and want to
verify that my data of the Java app matches that of C app.
I'm pretty tired so instead of babbling an explanation basiclly what I
am looking for from the vorbis encoder_example.c:
vorbis_info_init(&vi);
ret=vorbis_encode_init_vbr(&vi,2,44100,.5);
printf( "long bitrate_nominal = %ld", vi.bitrate_nominal );
printf( "long blocksizes[0] = %ld", vi.codec_setup.blocksizes[0] );
printf( "lo...

Migration to Samba
I'm migrating to Samba on about 50 desktops. After I join the domain
(this is on Windows 2k or XP) I get a whole new set of settings (under
documents and settings). Is there a way to tell Windows to use the old
directory? It matches their username on samba if that helps. Note, I'm
using local profiles.
Thanks,

smbpasswd command - updated
...including; interfaces, null passwords, "NO PASSWORD" in the
smbpasswd file, hosts allow, updated encrypted, force group, and
force user. In all cases a "temp" password was put in the
smbpasswd
file by the root user (except for the "NO PASSWORD" test).
The results were basiclly the same for every thing except
when I used the following in smb.conf:
force group = users
force user = lucy
Then it worked for that user and root still worked but no other
user.
Which is what I expected after looking at the log file enrties
(which
are included below). The log ent...

CentOS 4.4 not seeing all RAM
Hi Everyone,
My server is only seeing 4.8 GB out of 6 GB available. I don't know
why.
I have a CentOS 4.4 x86_64 server running on a Tyan s2895 with 6 GB of
RAM (two 1 GB sticks and 2 2 GB sticks). I upgraded the RAM, powered up
the server, and when CentOS was finished booting, checked the available
RAM with free. This is what it's reporting:
