Bug#376494: xen-utils-3.0: Bashisms in /etc/xen/scripts/* make Xen unable to run domUs
...(vif) could not be connected. Hotplug scripts not working. Checking the logs, /var/log/xen-hotplug.log was full of lines like this: trap: 53: ERR: bad trap I am using dash as /bin/sh, and this is the problem. I''ve not checked in detail, but it seems that there are bashisms in the scripts at /etc/xen/scripts that cause this failure. Changing /bin/sh to /bin/bash fixes the problem. The solution would be changing /bin/sh to /bin/bash in the scripts, or at least warning the user that /bin/sh needs to be /bin/...

bashisms in xen init scripts...
Hi all, Just a heads up. the init scripts in /etc/xen/scripts currently contain bashisms, they should probably be changed to either depend on /bin/bash or have the bashisms removed. I run with dash as /bin/sh and the scripts doe not work on my box unless I change the #!/bin/sh to #!/bin/bash Thanks in advance, Paul ______________________________...

[PATCH] Fix bashism in scripts/Makefile.xen
Hi: The following patch replaces a bash-specific substitution with equivalent POSIX /bin/sh substitutions. This allows a Xen-patched Linux to build when /bin/sh is a POSIX shell other than bash. 4 important bugs again <;
hello everyone, thanks to todd 1.2.21 is out :) every release getting better, i would like to get consensus on these "important" bugs: #252078 logtail: should depend on perl >= 5.8 sarge as any other modern linux distro use perl 5.8.x, it''s even inside of its base. backports are under the peril of its author if no one voices up, i''ll close that bug in the next

Last round of XCP bug squashing in Debian Wheezy, before the release
...not bug free yet, but it''s going into that direction. I would need some help to fix the remaining! 1/ The new 1.3.2-12 release The Debian release team has already accepted an unblock for this new version that I uploaded in Debian SID. Here''s the debian/changelog: * Fixes bashism in install-debian-pv.sh (Closes: #690612). * Fixes bashism in interface-visualise (Closes: #690710). * The /etc/init.d/xcp-squeezed script now depends on /etc/init.d/xen since it has been renamed like this from xend. For this reason, xcp-squeezed now depends on xen-utils-com...

How to clear sessions with cron?
Anyone got a quick code snippet I can add to my crontab? Since Rails doesn''t do any housekeeping, my /tmp directory just keeps getting fatter and fatter. I found this useless snippet in the Agile book: find /tmp/ -name ''ruby_sess*'' -ctime +12h -delete Fedora Linux complains about the ''h'' in 12h, then if you remove the

Ubuntu 8.04 + Astribank
I''m trying to use a Xorcom Astribank wth Ubuntu 8.04, but got no success. I can see the channel bank with lsusb, but when I tried to use zaptel_hardware, or when I try the /etc/init.d/script, they don''t see my Channel Bank. I compiled the latest Zaptel 1.4.10, with Astribank''s dependecies, fxload and libusb-dev. Anyone have a similiar experience ? Best
