I am glad too. Thank you. My ultimate goal is to ensure that R works as well on FreeBSD as it does elsewhere.

If so, maybe there is something useful we could You assume that change == breakage. Yet that assumption is baseless. WINE on AMD cpu
I saw in the 'myths' section that WINE will not run on an AMD cpu. Can someone confirm or deny? I would like to run WINE, but I do not seem to have the correct cpu to use it.

Okay now this argument is just baseless. If this were the case RH wouldn't be in business, there'd be no demand for centos, Sun wouldn't have donated hardware, we wouldn't have over 150 mirrors worldwide, and there wouldn't be a metric assload (yes this is a legitimate scale of measurement, Johnny Hughes told me so) o...

Fruanhofer patents and royalties for Streaming
Everyone involved in the Vorbis project should get their A into G and get streaming worked out before the 1st of Jan, so that when Fruanhofer start cracking down on streaming MP3, there's a good, workable alternative to switch to :) This includes the plugins and such --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe

FW: FW: Adding OpenBSD sudo to the FreeBSD base system?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 Sudo requires extra configuration that su does not. Why should I have to waste my time configuring another app just because a handful of people want it? I like su and how it works and I guarantee I am not the only one. You want it replaced replace it your self cd /usr/ports/security/sudo && make install clean That simple! Don't waste

[JOB] Rails Web Developer in Madison, WI
Hello, My company is looking for someone familiar with Rails, but *really* familiar with front-end web development; CSS, Javascript (Ajax + +good), and one of the XXp templating languages. We''re migrating a rusty J2EE-ish app to Rails, and we need someone who can flip between controller work and view development with ease. Very relaxed, flexible work atmosphere--we value

Just as a potential example, I would guess that Gene's binaries were produced with some old-ish version of gnu-efi, and not with the latest available commit (just a baseless guess, and certainly I could be very wrong). I am _not_ implying that I know this to be a cause of a problem in this case; it is just a generic example of what I meant. Lets not even attempt the gcc 5+ case, as we want to *solve* Syslinux-related problems, not add ones. > > > >,...

puppet-dashboard
Hello, I have another quick one about puppet dashboard. We are using the Debian one for Squeeze (1.0.4) and as the database has significantly grown, if/when we click on a list of unresponsive nodes to check them, the web interface sits there doing nothing then the puppetmaster process starts timing out for all nodes compiling their catalogs. Has anyone got a workaround for this? Does it involve

things I miss in wine
Hi there, there are many issues in wine and you can work around most of them somehow but there are few that you can not bypass. Copy Protection: wine seems to support a few copy protection systems, but not all. No of course you could say that a nocd crack should be used to work around that issue, but what if there is none available? Many games are done for different countries in different

CentOS Project Infrastructure
Dear Community, I recently started thinking about how to make a project like CentOS more transparent and open (especially for new contributors). The http://wiki.centos.org/Team page (which Dag created about a year ago) lists about 20 (more or less active) members, divided into core and community contributors. I personally do not like that kind of distinction. Of course there should be something

Types of apps to use Rails for?
I am a web developer using PHP and very limited JavaScript. I keep hearing about RoR and am interested in learning it, but before I make the jump I''d like to hear about the types of applications I should be using it for. On all the tutorials you see big apps like stores, social networking, shopping carts, etc. I don''t have any immediate plans to be building something that
