Rsync compression still broken
...appears to exist in 3.0.4.
Conditions seem similar to other instances reported where the file is >1GB.
And, like those other reports, I have unfortunately overwritten the
destination file when I turned off the compression flag and got a successful
copy.
Sorry I can't provide more,

Dissapearence of samba servers.
We have a LAN network consisting mostly of Win95 machines, with a couple
of NT boxes and 3 Linux-based Samba servers. Throw in a VAX running
Pathworks and a partridge in a pear tree.
Anyway, it seems that since Monday all three of the Samba boxes have
dissapeared from the browse lists (from the POV of the Windows users).
Typing in \\server only gives a "Network name not found error."

No network neighborhood
...SHARE) from our regular
domain (DOMAINA, security = SERVER; or Windows systems in the domain),
which is on the same subnet.
Other than the 'local master' change, the only other changes were
socket options and the addition of the 'map to guest = Bad User'
parameter.
Any ideas?

error from rsync2.5.6
Hi,
I just compiled new release 2.5.6 rsync in solaris5.9 machines,
and ran a rsync job,I got the following errors:
rsync error: unexplained error (code 255) at main.c(620)
Both source and destination servers are running 5.9, can you please
tell me should I update anything in main.c file?
Thanks,
Jennifer
