...ed will reach the end of its service life on July 31, 2017. Customers will be required to migrate existing systems to Red Hat Subscription Management prior to this date. Is there any plan to shift the CentOS announcements to refer to an alternative freely available service? Getting GELI Keys from Floppy
Hello, i want to encrypt my HDD's with GELI (not the root-fs, though). I want to do the encryption without password, just with a key. The key should be stored in a floppy disk, and the read should be read automatically on boot, from the floppy. There is a problem here, because GELI initializes _before_ mounting the disks from /etc/fstab (for obvious reasons, of course). So GELI is not able

ESX networking functions
Greeetings, Using the latest git snapshot I noticed that none of the networking functions are implemented in the ESX driver. No listing networks, no adding networks, etc. This functionality seems to be fully implemented for most of the other drivers and I don't see it on the "todo" wiki. Does anyone have an idea if/when this might get implemented? Would others be interested if I were

atheros chips dangerous?
Hello, Possibly some of you will have read the news about "Hijacking a Macbook in 60 Seconds or Less"[1]. At this time I was searching a wireless card for my server and I wonder how this can affect to the combination FreeBSD+ath(4). The ath_hal page states that FreeBSD use a binary driver and I think it is located in this file[2]. Unlike OpenBSD which affirms that they have

Dovecot installation with openldap shared libraries at Solaris 10
Hi, I am installing dovecot-1.0.10 on Solaris 10 with LDAP support. I know that Solaris LDAP is broken and so I install openldap-2.3.35. My openldap-2.3.35 shared lib files are at /usr/local/lib/ and /usr/local/include/. Barkley DB version is 4.2. Now I am configuring dovecot to use openldap as follows, PATH=$PATH:/usr/sfw/bin:/usr/ccs/bin export PATH LDFLAGS="-L/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.2/lib -R/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.2/lib -L/usr/local/lib -R/usr/local/lib" ./configure --with-ldap make...

ruby bindings has two gems (I think)
When I look at remote gems I see: - libvirt (0.2.0), "A ruby client library providing an interface to libvirt via FFI" - ruby-libvirt (0.3.0), "Provides bindings for libvirt" I've been using ruby-libvirt, but maybe I should give libvirt a try? Has anyone used libvirt (0.2.0) and developed opinions they'd like to share? -jb -------------- next part -------------- An

stage of data upload/download patch
Hey all, I'm looking at ways to upload/download to/from a datastore. I see it is on the todo roadmap wiki (http://libvirt.org/todo.html) and also on bugzilla at https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=636130. It looks to be a low priority item, so I was thinking about writing my own patch for this when I ran across this thread http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.emulators.libvirt/35532.

sweave: graphics not at the expected location in the pdf
Hi I use sweave for excellent pdf output (thank you- Friedrich Leisch). I have just one problem. Quite often it happens, that the graphics are not at the place where I expect them, but (often on a separate page) later on in the pdf. How can I fix this, means how can I define, that I want a graphic exactly here and now in the document? Many thanks and best regards Christoph -- Christoph

test regression against given slope for reduced major axis regression (RMA)
Hi, for testing if the slope of experimental data differs from a given slope I'm using the function "test_regression_against_slope" (see below). I am now confronted with the problem that I have data which requires a modelII regression (also called reduced major axes regression (RMA) or geometric mean regression). For this I use the function "modelII" (see below). What

An odd X question
I've got a headless server running CentOS 7. I've got a user who wants to run some graphical software on it, and view using x forwarding. What I don't have clear is how to set this up. I've just installed xorg-x11-server-[Xorg, common]. I assume I need to run X, but I don't see running this in runlevel 5. Thoughts? mark "and why is it called xorg-x11-server, when in

mirrors still catching up and -01.iso images?
I'm watching a couple of mirrors catch up with the 7.1 release and am noticing some churn on the .iso images. It appears that new -01.iso versions are coming downstream while some of the mirrors apparently were getting different .iso images. The -01.iso versions look to be significantly larger than the previous non-01.iso versions (the -Minimal .iso appears to have gone from 560M to 630M for
