stripping extension from domain name

I know that the "%d" parameter is for the domain. Is there any way to use
just the domain name sans its extension.
EXAMPLE:
example.com ==> example
Also, I have a lot of logging going on in my dovecot log file. I want to
limit it to just the barest amount, such as indicting what mail box mail was
delivered to. Authentication errors, etcetera should only be shown if an
error occurs. Is this possible?

What's LLVM{target}CodeGen vs {target}CodeGen?
...y target is called TMS9900 because I'm a masochist, and I'm just trying to
make a bare do-nothing skeleton to start with. I have this:
lib/Target/TMS9900
- CMakeLists.txt
- LLVMBuild.txt
- TMS9900TargetMachine.cpp
- TMS9900TargetMachine.h
- TMS9900.td
TMS9900TargetMachine is the barest class I could make. It derives from
LLVMTargetMachine, and passes everything through (although it defines the
DataLayout).
CMakeLists.txt is also pretty small:
set(LLVM_TARGET_DEFINITIONS TMS9900.td)
add_llvm_library(TMS9900CodeGen
TMS9900TargetMachine.cpp
)
LLVMBuild.txt is as minimal as I...

[OT] What file can I use to change Ubuntu 9.10 display characteristics?
...aches its information? All this GUI configuration is great unless
the thing you are trying to configure is the display and you can't get
that working. In the old days when you needed to edit a text-based
configuration file you had a fighting chance of doing that even if you
could only get the barest of systems, a text console device, running.
