What is the story between bareos and bacula? And why you prefer bareos as
opposed to bacula. Just curios: I use bacula (it is bacula 5, server is
FreeBSD, clients are CentOS 5,6,7, FreeBSD 9,10, Windows 7). Thank...

CentOS 6, bareos, kerberos?
After upgradeding to bareos 15.2, which also has a web ui, thereby making
it usable (since the command line tool, bconsole, does not have a paging
mechanism, and its sytax for choosing files to restore is, let us say,
arcane), I've got another question: is *anyone* using bareos with
kerberos? I see that they have in alpha...

IMHO - as Kern (Bacula lead developer) is pushing Bacula forward I dont understand this too. It must be
a misinformation about the current status of the project itself and competitors interests (Bareos).

Inactive? Every 2 months a release (average):

Hi.
It's normal for bareos mailing list and bugtrac system. Bareos is paid
support oriented (even opesourced), so don't expect so much help from
them - when they could get some money for that (paid support). For me it
was too hostilie env: bareos mailing list or bug track system - so i

bareos on CentOS 6
Hi, folks,
I'm hoping *someone* here has worked a bit with bareos. I've tried
posting to the google groups for it... and haven't even had one person
view my post....
It was working fine, backing up windows boxes for months. Then, about a
week ago, the server got a regular yum update, and rebooted... and it's
broken. A job will start... and just ke...

I see that bareos is, actually, the descendent of bacula. I've been
looking at some of the documentation, and searching, but one thing I'd
like to find out, before I try to implement it, and that I haven't found
yet: am I going to have to play games, to get it to back up to online

First question: how do you *see* a list of the files that have been backed
up (you're not going to tell me that's a postgresql thing, are you?)?
Second: I've been looking, and am having trouble finding examples of
configuring the bareos-dir for a win client. I *think* I did it right, but
I get warnings. For the fileset, I have
FileSet {
Name = "<winclientname>set"

Options {
Signature = MD5 # calculate md5 checksum per file
}
File = "c:\Users"
}
}
But the logs *seem* to b...
