Childrens Game: Barbie Pegasus does not run
Hello All,
I recently converted my wife over to Ubuntu 8.04 and wanted to do the same to my children's PC. I have checked AppDB and was unable to find a listing for this game already. I am testing their games in a virtual machine (VirtualBox) with Ubuntu 8.04 and wine-1.0-rc2. When I double-click on the icon for the game, it thinks for a minute like it was trying to launch but then

Wine 20050930 and Barbie Beauty Styler
Hi,
I just installed FC4 and Wine-20050930 for my sister from this place:
http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-devel/2005-October/040702.html
http://komi.bluezones.org/wine/fc4/20050930/
Thanks for the compilation, Dieter!
My sister's daughter has whined for "Barbie Beauty Styler", so
I tried installing it. The installation from the CD root kept
complaining about it has to install DCOM98, even after I let it do it.
However, the Setup.exe from the BARBIE directory worked successfully,
it even created an .LNK file in the GNOME Desktop dir, which of course...

DTMF Question (misunderstood '*' button)
Hi all!
I'm experimenting a strange problem in my Asterisk PBX:
I've got an Asterisk pbx in the office: I dial an external number; the dialled
number answers me correctly, but as soon as I press the '*' button (i.e. to
navigate through the menus or to enter a password) my Asterisk box put me on
hold.

Differing Win & Linux user names
...9;dan' how do I make it so the share for my home directory on my Linux box was available?
I tried putting a line like
dan = "Daniel Foster"
in smbusers but it didn't seem to help. What is smbusers for anyway? I can't find any mention of it in the docs.
Thanks, Dan.

Model building ...
Hi
Are there any functions that de-convolute data into a given number of
clusters, rather like the NPMLE GLIM macros from Murray Aitkin and Brian
Francis? Basically I would like to code into R the same approach but
include the possiblility of some data being censored. In principle the
formulae are the same (just replace the likelihood function) but I haven't
managed to get my head round the

Well, you can forget it. If everybody pulled that kind of subversive stunt,
the economy would collapse overnight. The government would have to
intervene: it would form a cabinet-level Department of Holiday Gift-Giving,
which would spend billions and billions of tax dollars to buy Barbie dolls
and electronic games, which it would drop on the populace from Air Force
jets, killing and maiming thousands. So, for the good of the nation, you
should go along with the Holiday Program. This means you should get a large
sum of money and go to a mall.
