[LLVMdev] MC to LLVM disassembler?
Thanks for your response. In your experience, was it worth the conversion hassle and code expansion to have the code in a platform-independent SSA form and be able to apply LLVM-based analysis tools? Or is it better to convert to another IR (such as BAP[1]) and work in that form?

[LLVMdev] BNF for IL/IR interpreter
This might be a very beginner question, but I'm looking for an example for
something that I have never done.
Suppose that I wanted to express actions with respect to lifted semantics
of CPU instructions to an intermediate representation, BAP IL or LLVM IR.
How might I go about providing a Backus Naur Form specification and then
dynamically interpreting those lifted instructions by also specifying
actions to be done with any given IL/IR primitive? I'm looking for any
library that allows me to express BNF terms and actions on them....

Hiera Automatic Parameter Lookup Question
This may be a dumb question, but here goes
So I''m running on Puppet 3.1.1 on RHEL5, and i''ve been using Hiera since 2.5/2.6 ish and it''s been great!! I was reading up on Automatic Parameter Lookups and would love to use it for my modules. But I can''t seem to ever get Hiera/Puppet to load the value i''ve set in my yaml files. I feel like I must be

Decompilation and the SSA form
Hi,
Is decompilation possible in general to the SSA form for binaries? I assume
one has to make certain assumptions about code in general to get tools like
these to work. For example if code like with dlsym or jit heap allocated
functions can be incorporated at runtime it would seem that in general it
is quite difficult to ascertain the boundaries of a basic block and insert
the correct phi

compiz coding style
The coding style I use for compiz is very similar to what's used in the
xserver. This was the best I could get out of GNU indent.
indent -psl -saf -sai -saw -sob -i4 -bbo -bls -lp -di1 -pcs -bs -cs -bl
-bli0 -cdb -sc -bad -bap -l78
The style in compiz is slightly different though. Function parameters
are aligned and I usually align function parameter names and variable
names too. I also cuddle up { in switch statements. Camel caps are used
and I'm pretty strict with keeping all lines less than 80 columns wide.

LLVM IR from static/dynamic libraries
Hi All,
Is this possible to generate LLVM IR from any static/dynamic link library?
I have some static and dynamic link library and I want to generate LLVM IR
as I want to obfuscate these libraries.
Is there any way to do the same.
Please give me some pointers on this.
Thanks,
Deep

Graphic legend with mathematical symbol, numeric variable and character variable
Hi,
I'd like to make a legend with a mix of mathematical symbol (tau),
numeric variable and character variables.I have tried :
types<-c("Type 1","Type 2","Type 2")
tau<-c(1,3,2)
legend(x="topright",legend=paste(types,"tau=",expression(tau)))
but it doesn't work: the 'tau' symbol is not written in its 'symbol

UA - number assignment
My problem is simple and I've issued it about 3 weeks ago. I want the
UAs to authenticate with a number to the SIP server. Is this possible?
For example, I configured an AT-RG613TX (Allied Telesyn Residential
Gateway). In its configuration it is not possible for me to skip
specifying a number (ex. 102) along with the username. I've looked into
the source code (SIP implementation) of

OES Samba question
We are currently running Open Enterprise Server from Novell and have been
migrating to Samba. We have ran into an issue where occasionally a user will
click on a directory and it will just sit there forever with an hour glass
or flashlight. If you go to the same directory through a command prompt and
do a dir on the directory it goes into a continuous loop and reads the
contents of the directory

winbind - not ready for prime time?
What's the consensus? Should winbind even be considered for production use?
Looking back through the archives of the Samba lists, there's a lot of doubt
about it. Where people have had problems, there are more often than not no
solutions given. When I look at the man page in 3.0.28, there are litterally
blank spots awaiting completion, and lack of documentation of

I am indeed having a problem regarding external function.
I my program is just one file everything work and I can access all the functions.
However, if it has multiple files I have a lot of unresolved pointers to

Accessing Samba Shares from Windows
Hello,
We are using machines with Solaris and Windows XP. The XP machines are
joined in a domain(windows 2003) and the Solaris machines are not joined to
any domain.
With Samba 2.2.8a running on Solaris 9 there are no problems to access them
form Windows XP. We are authenticated by DC.
On other machines we have Solaris 10 with Samba 3.0.21b and here we are NOT
authenticated anymore by DC. So we

question about changejournal
Hi,
I''ve got a newbie question--sorry if this is covered elsewhere, I parsed
through the archives for awhile and didn''t see it.
I''d like to listen for whenever a file is renamed (e.g. foo.txt -> foo.old)
and then magically change it back. This sounds odd, but I''m working with a
stubborn application and this will actually make things work nice.
So, if I do:

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list.
I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without
modifications.
How did I try it?
Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock )
Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a
rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee
prep-out.log
The build failed at the end:
