LispStat, R and ViSta [was: Re: Status?]
...een statistical systems such as Arc and ViSta. In the work I've done with LispStat, ViSta's spreadplot architecture is the best example of LispStat being used to implement a statistical (sub)system (described in a forthcoming JCGS paper by myself, Pedro Valero, Richard Faldowski and Carla Bann). The weaknesses of LispStat are: 1) No high-level analysis modules 2) No standards for data sets, models, etc. 3) No user-oriented data manipulation language 4) Totally inadequate documentation 5) Poor or non-existant printing 6) No static graphic manipulation facilities 7) The underlying opera...

Baan client and WINE
Hi, I've seen in your WINE Applications Database, that the Bann client works. But when I run the bw, it can't load the config file. Could you explain me the reason why it can't? Or can you give me the e-mail of the person who test the Baan application? Thanks Denis Gaultier # Ce courrier et les documents qui y sont joints peuvent contenir des infor...

The inbound MTA need not advertise its existance to the web and, if port 587 is the only one, you could bann port probes, because few attackers will start with port 587. > As Reindl said switch off SASL on port 25 (hence in the SMTP conversation > following the ehlo line, the client isn't even offered AUTH and hence the > chance to login to try to relay). Winbind failure
Folks, I am setting up a server to use cups printing and samba to communicate with windows. Samba appeared to be working for a little while and then for some reason stopped working. Looking at the log files I see the following: [2007/07/10 12:49:16, 0] smbd/server.c:main(986) standard input is not a socket, assuming -D option [2007/07/10 12:49:16, 0]

error on ads_startup: No logon servers
Folks, I have set up a samba development server. It is able to let users log in through ldap, it grabs their groups correctly, it gets a kerberos ticket correctly, however it craps out when trying to join to the ADS. I have an already working server with, from what I can tell, the same configuration. When I run the net ads join -d3 (letting it use a previously cached kerberos ticket for
