Double-banger function names: preferences and suggestions
What do you prefer/recommend for double-banger function names: 1 scale.colour 2 scale_colour 3 scaleColour 1 is more R-like, but conflicts with S3. 2 is a modern version of number 1, but not many packages use it. Number 3 is more java-like. (I like number 2 best) Any suggestions? Thanks, Hadley

1 ISDN BRI to IAX2/SIP... (*) best tool or?...
I have a question, I have to provide a solution for an office that will be almost abandoned, and there will be one or sometimes two persons 2 days a week. The main number however should be preserved. They have several ISDN BRI connections, most of which will be dropped. Only one will be retained, for 2 reasons: 1) It has the ADSL link 2) The number has been the main contact number for over 20

Tableless ActiveRecord attribute and my aching head
I beat my head against a wall for almost 2 hours with this issue. My first problem was easily solved. I wanted a class that could use ActiveRecord''s validation capabilities but without using a table behind it (I would be persisting setup information in the session, but the initial setup parameters come from a user input form) No problem...found this link which got me up and running

Migrating zpool to new drives with 4K Sectors
Hi ZFS Discuss, I have a 8x 1TB RAIDZ running on Samsung 1TB 5400rpm drives with 512b sectors. I will be replacing all of these with 8x Western Digital 2TB drives with support for 4K sectors. The replacement plan will be to swap out each of the 8 drives until all are replaced and the new size (~16TB) is available with a `zfs scrub`. My question is, how do I do this and also factor in the new

Fedora change that will probably affect RHEL

Why? Because it still occasionally works. Increase the password strength minima, and this class of worm, too, will quickly die out. If the Windows fix was firewall on by default,

RE SMS and SQL
Hi TOm, I know it this doesn't really help your SMS problem, but it does help SQL. Oracle just accounced support for Linux and they said they are going to release a free version of ORACLE for Linux. ZFS Recovery after SAN Corruption
Hello, We recently had SAN corruption (hard power outage), and we lost a few transaction that were waiting to be written to real disk. The end result as we all know is CKSUM errors on the zpool from a scrub, and we also had a few corrupted files reported by ZFS. My question is, what is the proper way to recover from this?
