PXE linux install server with CentOS 5
...on server
(CentOS 5 which has tftp-server-0.42-31.el5.centos and dhcp-3.0.5-5el5
and httpd-2.2.3.7.el5.centos) and I followed this recommendation:
http://www.linux-sxs.org/internet_serving/pxeboot.html
in order to create an http install server (I'd rather not do NFS, FTP
installations due to bandwitdth restrictions at our site). I keep
getting
the following errors on the client side:

QoS (HTB) without IP address
...(or even
without?) or thing like this and use an u32 filter to direct the traffic to
the right class ?
In other words, I can''t modify the existing network config or inster into
(netmask is 255.255.255.252) and I want to shape traffic before the router.
(And the firewall can''t do bandwitdth managment...)
Many thanks in advance and happy new year 2003 !
G.

Monitoring bandwidth, latency, packet drop.
Hi all.
I am currently thinking about monitoring a network link (bandwidth,
latency, packet drop). I have a centos server which is connected to
providers network through a switch. How to test the link? Should I:
- use ICMP to ping gateway and collect staistics of time/packet loss/etc.
- use software like here:

congestion problem
...10mbit links
I have a 32kbit garanted bandwidth on the R2-R3, but without limit (rate
32kbit, ceil 2mbit)
The congested link is between R2 and R3. I start to download something,
the R2-R3 32kbit gets full, borrows and gets to around (let''s say)
50kbit. Then other clients comes, and the bandwitdth above 32kbit gets
unsecured. In this moment i want to browse a web page, and it comes very
very hard.
The question is: what can i do from R1 to make the browsing faster, but
not limiting the download to 20kbit (for ex)???

Really bad KVM disk performance
Hi Gang,
I recently rented a server at a datacenter with Centos 5.7 X64, Q9550
Processor, 8GB Ram, and dual 250GB SATA HDs (with 16mb cache). They had
loaded it with KVM, and installed a 30-day trial of Virtualizor as the
front-end for KVM.
I was so impressed with how fasts the guests ran that I want to build a few of
these machines for myself. I just installed one: same Q9550 processor, 4GB
