Web server in a sandbox?
...server box, where I'd like to install MediaWiki. I found this article: http://docs.fedoraproject.org/documentation-guide/en_US/sn-sandbox-setup.html Would it be straightforward to follow those instructions on a CentOS5 box? Anything I should be aware of? Remember that this is a whole new ballgame for me. Is it likely to meet my needs? Any recommended reading that takes it right from step1 - assuming no special knowledge? Anne -- New to KDE4? - get help from http://userbase.kde.org Just found a cool new feature? 10+ TB RAID experiences?
I'm looking for RAID options for at least 10 TB to attach to a Dell PowerEdge 2950 running RHEL 5 64-bit Server. The system will act as a single sign-on server for XP and Linux, thus storing user's data from mounted home directories exported from the server to various workstations. It may also house a database. I'll need a storage solution starting at least 10 TB. Most of the

Can anyone talk infrastructure with me?
Hi All, I started a 501c3 (not-for-profit) organization back in February 2011 to deal with information archival. A long vision here, I wont bore you with the details (if you really want to know, e-mail me privately) but the gist is I need to build an infrastructure to accommodate about 2PB of data that is database stuff, stored video, crawl data, static data sets, etc. Right now in my testing of

Is log_in_vain really good or really bad?
Heya.. Yesterday someone "attacked" by box by connection to several ports.. In other words, a simple portscan.. yet, since my box has "log_in_vain" enabled, so it tries to log everything to /var/log/messages, since the logfile got full and the size went over 100K, it tried to rotate the log to save diskspace. (Apr 16 21:00:00 omikron newsyslog[32137]: logfile turned over due

DCE in the presence of control flow.
I had assumed you would treat phi nodes differently from other operations in that they don’t need to keep the block alive just to retain the data flow facts but it would be simplest to do that.
