The state of btrfs RAID6 as of kernel 3.13-rc1
Hi What is the general state of btrfs RAID6 as of kernel 3.13-rc1 and the latest btrfs tools? More specifically: - Is it able to correct errors during scrubs? - Is it able to transparently handle disk failures without downtime? - Is it possible to convert btrfs RAID10 to RAID6 without recreating the fs? - Is it possible to add/remove drives to a RAID6 array? Regards, Hans-Kristian -- To

rmagick->X11 on MacTel Howto?
I needed to install rmagick/GraphicsMagick on an IntelMac and did so from Darwinports. Some things work and others don''t work, like rendering fonts which needs X11 fonts and X server. The rmagick page at rubyforge points to .. http://developer.apple.com/opensource/tools/runningx11.html where X11 link to Apple is broken. X11User.pkg talked about on the page above no longer exists at

...and all calls terminated). I can not see any weird behaviour from asterisk. When RNR is received, it stops sending setup messages to the far end. Which is correct. We have managed to agree on a test session with the telco, but first I would like to know if anyone else has experienced this. Knut Bakke. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! If you have a fresh domain and just starting with AD-integration on your linux-boxes you can just pull out the logic for generating winbind compatible uids/gids. - Regards, Hans-Kristian On 29 January 2015 at 23:53, Hans-Kristian Bakke <hkbakke at gmail.com> wrote: > Ok, it's here: http://pastebin.com/JEnr5wUq > > The id_offset is that value because i initially didn't use rfc2307 > attributes, but instead > > > On 29 January 2015 at 23:27, Tim <lists at kiuni.de> wrote: >> @Hans-Kris...

rfc2307 deprecated in Windows 2012 R2?
It is actually rather easy to set the attributes via powershell, and that is probably the best way to add them in a Server 2012 R2 environment. I wrote a powershell script to do this automatically for users and groups in an entire domain that should be pretty generic to be reused. It also mirrors the logic used in automatic winbind UID/GID generation to be able to coexist in an environment where

syslinux 1.67 - have to use '-s' on my Dell CPiA 366
Hi. I need to use '-s' with syslinux, in order to make it work on my Dell CpiA 366 laptop *when I use 1722kB floppies*. Plain 1440kB floppies work w/o '-s'. 1722kB images work well with bochs without the use of '-s'. http://bochs.sf.net/ Thanks, Dag B http://syslinux.zytor.com/faq.php "The -s option, if given, will install a "safe, slow and stupid"

smbldap-useradd
I have my new servers up and going with Samba and LDAP on them. Now I have to add my users. Here is my problem. I have written a perl script that reads a file and adds users to different groups depending on what grade they are in and it also generates a random password, that it exports to a master list. The old script would add the user to unix and then to samba, along with the password

Hi all, I have a series of measurements made over different types of road surfaces and capacity that I want to summarize in tables via LaTeX. Ideally I'd like a table similar to this ( http://www.andy-roberts.net/misc/latex/tutorial4/multirow.png ) with mean/SD of the measurement broken down by road type (both surface and capacity). Ideally it would be extensible so that when I add layers

sudo issues after upgrading to samba/winbind 4.0.13 on Debian Wheezy
Hi I have upgraded from samba 3.6.19 to samba 4.0.13 on Debian Wheezy 64-bit with Samba 4.0.13 from wheezy-backports. I use winbind to authenticate against a two-server AD domain on Server 2012 functional level and forced LDAPS. After upgrading from 3.6.19 to 4.0.13 everything still works for me as usual. That is samba shares authentication, all things relying on the keytab, SSO logins with SSH

rsync parameters errors
In my new bash script, I'm doing what I think is a very simple rsync command the way I'm used to doing it. I just do a lot of setup and checking before I get to it. When I run it, it gets very unhappy with me. It's probably something very simple. I need to build the rsync command in a string so that some things can go away - like if my variables DRY_RUN and DELETE are undefined,
