mixer input for icecast
hello,
i'm looking for a mixer application as source for icecast. the app
should be scriptable, e.g. it should take 2 or 3 input channels (files)
at various volume levels and downmix it to one source stream for icecast.
pretty much the same as a normal mixer does, but i want to control it by
a kind of predefined timeline. any idea anybody?
thanks, uno

Encoding / new comments
Hi,
I'm developing a software using a vorbis encoder, streaming to an
icecast server. I recently realized that the system gets a bit out of
sync at every new track. The machine isn't really fast, but it's
enough, and it can actually get the sync back quickly. However, I'm
wondering why the encoding costs me so much at every new track, it
would be better to have the system behave

hmmm, I thought I did describe the playout system, but I'm happy to
elaborate if you want more details.
But you're right about the bugs. The critical (i.e. urgent) ones in no...

Open source streaming project in need of developers
Hi everyone,
I thought long and hard (ok, not *that* long) about whether or not to
crosspost this to icecast-dev. In the end I decided not to since this
isn't about an Icecast or Xiph project.
My name is Geoff Shang and I've been an enthusiastic user of Icecast for a
long time. I am also the chief tech guy for a project called ACB Radio
(http://www.acbradio.org), which is run by

Liquidsoap 0.3.0
Hi list,
The Savonet team is proud to announce a new release of its
programmable audio stream generator, liquidsoap 0.3.0. Liquidsoap is a
simple ruby-like script language allowing one to build audio stream
sources from various elementary sources, source combinators and audio
outputs. It is mainly intended to be used as an icecast client for
internet radios through the use of the shout output

Open source streaming project in need of developers
Hi,
You didn't describe much of your bugs or the specific features of your
playout system... It seems to me that it'd be best to focus new
efforts on the automated scheduler pickings songs from the database.
In that area there is no really good open-source solution as far as I
know. There are only several specialized solutions.
Playout is quite independent from scheduling: streamers can

Shout.delay
Hi list,
I'm the main developper of liquidsoap, the streamer from the Savonet
project (http://savonet.sf.net). This streamer mainly uses shout2 as
an output plugin, but also alsa, raw data over rtp, etc. And many
outputs can be used in the same instance of liquidsoap. For that
reason, we don't use directly sync and delay from libshout, but have a
centralized scheduler, which should avoid

Sharing encoders
Hi list,
I'm developping quite a complex system (namely liquidsoap,
http://savonet.sf.net project) which involves encoding many WAV
streams. Sometimes, all the streams are the same -- but it cannot be
known statically. For example, some user runs a radio which has three
channels, one playing hiphop music, one playing reggae music, the
third one switching from one of the two first to another.

Buggy metadata insert code ?
Hi,
In the ocaml-vorbis binding for libvorbis/libogg, we're having trouble
with the function encoder_reset which is intended to finish the
current track and start a new one with given metadata.
Used in liquidsoap (audio streamer) I first noticed that this function
is quite slow, and can lead to (very small) latencies of outputs. But
it gets more serious now, since we start to suspect it to
