tinc configuration question

The tinc.conf file reads like:
[root at optiplex060 crc_idb1]# more tinc.conf
Name = crc_idb1
ConnectedTo = fry
Device = /dev/net/tun
And under "hosts" folder, there is a crc_idb1 file that reads like:
Address = myhost.badlab.crc.ca
Subnet = 10.1.8.100/32

Finally, there is a tinc-up script under /etc/tinc/crc_idb1/:
