Thunderbird does not find the right folders :-(
Moika, Overnight, I migrated my user-mails from uw-imap to dovecot-maildir. I used the uw2dovecot.pl script to convert all mails and changed exim, too. Receiving mails works fine allready, but nobody can access the usual subscribed folders with thunderbird. Via "subscriptions" I can find the converted folders in a folder called "_" (underline). People getting mad about me

folders are not under INBOX
hi guys, I hope it's common trouble, but I'm not able to find a solution: - i'am using courier imap and trying to migrate to the dovecot - on courier I have all folders as subfolder of Inbox - i.e. Inbox.Sent but on dovecot the folder Sent is not subfolder of Inbox, but its on the same level. Please is there some possibility to have the subfolders the same behaviour as in courier?

Alternate mail_location prefix for homedir
Hi, I'm switching from UW-imap to dovecot 2.0.1 and was wondering about the mail_location config: mail_location = mbox:~/.:INBOX=/var/mail/%u Notice '.' in '~/.' above. This seems to resolve the ~/mail problem when switching from UW-imap (ie, no 'mail' prefix). doc/wiki/Migration.UW.txt doesn't mention using '~/.', so I was wondering whether there are

Dovecot proxy: per user/domain 'namespace/inbox/prefix' from MySQL
...y and avoid using "prefix = INBOX." ad infinitum for the inbox namespace, I'm looking for ways to move on to "prefix =" for new mail accounts, and grandfather the existing ones. Previously running Courier-IMAP, now Dovecot, I looked at https://wiki.dovecot.org/Namespaces#Backwards_Compatibility:_Courier_IMAP and decided it's too risky to go down that path and use namespace compat, with so many IMAP clients out there the scope of testing is huge and the outcome is uncertain and not worth it. After reading https://wiki.dovecot.org/Namespaces#Per-user_Namespace_Location_From_S...

Questions still about a uw-imap -> dovecot conversion
The more I read about all of this, the more I'm thinking about moving to maildir format. My switchover this weekend is full of holes due to the way user's imap folders were laid out. Some had folders in their home directory and others might have folders in their /home/mail directory. Some how, Horde/Imp seemed to keep track of it. Dovecot is not doing so well. I've been reading
